"Wow!"
"Yeah. Wow!" – Ron and Hermione were lying in Ron's bed, entwined. They were together for three months now. Three bittersweet months. Three months since their first kiss, since the end of the Second Wizarding War, since Fred had died. Ron and Hermione had just shared the most intimate, beautiful moment two people can ever share. They made love. It was kind of awkward and new, but wonderful and amazing at the same time. They were truly together now, they belonged to each other. Forever.
Ron looked to the girl in his arms and just couldn't believe what had just happened. He had spend years of wanting her, needing her, and now there she was - looking at him with those big chocolate eyes, with her wild hair spread on his chest, and for a moment he felt like nothing bad had happened, like there couldn't be anything in the world that wasn't beautiful and pure. He could see his future with her and no one else. He was hers. He always had been.
"Are you Ok? Did I hurt you or…"
"No, no. I'm Fine. I'm great. Are you Ok? You look like you drifted off somewhere else."
"Do you think this is right? Being here? Being this happy? Do you think that we should be this happy after everything that happened?"
"Yes, I think we should. Because this is what we fought for. Happiness. And I think that the people who gave their life for that, for our freedom, would be glad to know that we're happy, that we keep living. And I think that Fred of all people would appreciate it. He wouldn't want us to be sad and to stop our lives. He would want you to be happy, Ron."
"Yeah, I think he would. You really are the smart one, aren't you? I love you, Hermione Granger"
"I love you too, Ronald Weasley. So much!"- and they kissed. A kiss full of promise for a new beginning, full of happiness and above all, full of love.
"God, I love you so much, Hermione. I don't think that anyone has ever loved someone so much in the history of the world. I love you so much that it hurts. It took me time to realize that and I have done a lot of mistakes but I promise you to be better than that now. You make me want to be a better person, Hermione, someone that's good enough for you. I know that I'm not the smartest or the funniest but I'll try to be good enough for you."
Ron looked at her with so much determination in his eyes. Hermione took his hand and entwined their fingers.
"You already are, Ron. You have always been. You are so much more than enough, more than I have ever dreamed. You are everything. And I love you. You've got to believe that."
And he did. He could see the love in her eyes. And for one moment he felt like he could do anything. He didn't feel like one of the Weasley brothers or like Harry Potter's best friend. He felt like Ronald Weasley – the man that Hermione Granger loved. And at this moment he felt worthy. He could see everything. Their whole future. It wouldn't always be easy, but he knew that as long as they were together everything would be all right. Because it was them. No matter how many mistakes they have done and how many insecurities they had, they would always find their way to each other. Because they were meant to be together. They were Ron and Hermione - two halves of one heart.
