Hello fellow potterheads!

Here is the first of a series of winter one-shots/drabbles about random HP characters.

I don't own Harry Potter.

If you enjoy it, please review, follow or favourite!

Thank you, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

~Owl of Destiny

Fred Weasley crept down the stairs of the burrow, his brother George at his heels. It was five O' clock on christmas morning, and the ten-year-old twins wanted to make the most of their day. As Fred reached the bottom of the stairs, he paused; squinting through the semi-darkness of the kitchen and listening for any signs that his parents were already up. But all was still, and silence filled the air around him. They were alone. Fred jumped as a sudden crash broke the silence and George bumped into him from behind, after tripping on the stairs. As George started to laugh, Fred shushed his twin; fearful of waking their parents or one of their five other siblings.

The brothers slowly made their way through the kitchen and into the living room, careful to avoid any creaking wooden floorboards that could ruin their festive prank. Fred gazed up and saw the Weasley's christmas tree standing before him, with a stack of presents jumbled underneath it. The twins tiptoed over to the tree, then crouched down beside it, both of them knowing exactly what to do. They had been planning this trick since halloween, and had held many meetings in their shared bedroom to prepare for it. Fred picked up a large parcel with "Percy" written on the label in loopy gold writing, then he selected a different package meant for Charlie. Swiftly, he tore the name off Percy's present and re-attached it to Charlie's, whilst also removing the label from Charlie's parcel and tying it on to Percy's one. George did the same for two other presents, this time for Ginny and their mum.

The twins worked quickly - stopping every so often to listen for footsteps on the stairs - as they switched the name tags of their family's presents, except for any with either of the twins' names on them. Fred smiled to himself as he completed the last swap, before giving George a high five in triumph of their latest prank. Stealthily, the boys headed back up the stairs to their room, but not before taking a christmas biscuit each from a tray in the kitchen.

Later that day, when the whole family had gathered around the christmas tree to open their presents, the twins tried to suppress their laughter as Charlie let out a sigh of disappointment when he received a history of magic book meant for Percy, or when Percy screamed as he opened Charlie's box of tiny, but realistic dragon models that tried to bite his nose off. The family all had confused faces by the time Molly Weasley opened a cuddly hippogriff supposed to be for Ginny, whilst seven-year-old Ginny received some frilly pink underwear meant for her mother. Molly snatched the articles of clothing away from a crying Ginny, an irritated expression on her face. She looked a bit flustered, and Fred couldn't tell whether the red on her cheeks was due to embarrassment or rage.

Of course; their mother instantly knew it was their doing, and banned the twins from eating any christmas pudding, but both Fred and George agreed that the prank had been worth it. Anyways, they didn't want any christmas pudding; not when they had switched the sugar for salt in the kitchen cupboard that very morning.
