Now that that's done...
"Alright, your loss." Jen said, closing Luke's attic door.
She had come to pick him up for the rally. She had organized it to attempt to make children like Luke and her, third children, legal. Luke, however, didn't wish to go. However, later, he would wish, just sometimes, that he had.
She put the car in drive, and sped off. "Can't be late," she mumbled under her breath. She had stolen a car from her dad, who, ironic enough, was a government official. Narrowly avoiding a few crashes, she stopped the car, and told the other shadow kids in the back to climb out. She looked at the crowd, and realized that she had over-estimated her fellow shadow children. Only a few other people were at the presidents house, chanting phrases such as,
"Im a person, not a shadow child!"
"Let me be free!"
"I am not illegal!"
"Give me liberty or give me death!"
The last one was Jen's call. Unfortunately, after a few moments, men with rifles came out. They were the population police.
"Cease and Desist! You are all under arrest. You are Illegal Children. Now, prepare to be executed!"
"Don't be afraid! He can't kill us all!" Jen shouted as the men raised their rifles. Unfortunately, as she was about to learn in a mere matter of seconds, she was wrong.
