"But why? Where are you going? How long are you going to be gone for?" Sora asked his true love and lover's back as he was packing all of his belongings into a few suitcases.
"I don't know. I just need some time alone. I might be back tomorrow, I might be back next week. Next month. Maybe never. I just don't know. I need to think." Riku answered his best friend. "Some things have come up that I can't answer while I'm around you and I think it'll be best for us to be apart for awhile."
As Sora moved forward to attempt to hug Riku around the neck, Riku silently moved away, finished zipping up his suitcases and moved them to the front hall of the cottage that he had shared for the past 8 months. Sora watched the silver-haired boy call a taxi cab as tears slowly welled into his eyes. The moment that the taxi arrived and Riku left the house, Sora couldn't hold it in any more and he let his tears come rushing out onto the bed that he and his beloved had shared for so long, soaking the pillows more than anything else that had ever happened on them.
After 10 minutes of crying, Sora walked over to his phone and made a call.
"Hello, this is Kairi, whom am I talking to?" The high pitched bouncy voice answered.
"Kairi, this is Sora, can you come over to my house? I really need to talk to someone." Sora hiccupped into the phone receiver.
"Is everything all right? I'll be right over, Sora." Kairi replied with concern suffused through her voice.
5 minutes later as Sora let Kairi into his house, she looked around and saw what a mess the house was, and questioned "Where's Riku?" which caused Sora to break down again, and he dropped into a chair and began to cry. As Kairi began to realize what had happened, she went into the kitchen and wet a towel and brought it back to Sora, and began to wipe the tears away from his face. "So, what happened?"
"He…He…He said that he needed time away from me…He doesn't know when or if he's going to come back. Kairi, I love him, and I want him back! What am I gonna do if he never comes back! I can't imagine being without him!" Sora wailed as Kairi hugged him.
"Of course he's going to come back. He loves you too much to stay away! Have a little bit of faith."
"You didn't hear the way he was talking. I'm really not sure if he loves me anymore…" Sora responded.
"Trust me, he will. But right now, you need to get some sleep. You've had a rough afternoon. You're tired, and you need some rest. I'll be back later tonight with some dinner for you, so don't worry about cooking. Okay?" Kairi told her oldest friend as she helped him to his couch after seeing the look on his face when they approached the bedroom.
A/N> First chapter of an angst fic I got the idea for because of the crappy summers that I have. It'll be updated fairly often as I have nothing to do. A/N>
