A/N: hi peoples. This is my third one shot. I like writing one shots, its lots of fun. I sorry they're all depressing but I just write down the ideas that come to my head. Well anyway, read it and tell me what you think. By the way l will have Du Fyrn Skulblaka updated by Wednesday.

Return?

A man howled to the moon as he stood on the beach watching a ship take off. At the front of the ship stood a man and a woman. In the sky, a sapphire dragon and an emerald dragon flew side by side, riders sitting on their backs.

Alagaesia had taken everything he held dear. The man looked at the figure on the sapphire dragon's back and cursed him with every curse he new. That man, his brother, had taken away his half self, his dragon. The man on the beach was a mere shell of the man he had once been. When his dragon had died, he had lost half of himself along the way. Life was no longer worth living.

When that thought came, he did something he had been tempted to do many a time. He took his sword from its sheath. The blade glinted blood red in the moon light. Without a second though, the man plunged his sword through his chest and fell to the ground.

The man who sat on the Sapphire dragon looked at the land he had grown up in. He smiled a sad smile. He remembered the fortune telling that had taken place so long ago. Your fate is to leave this land forever. You will never stand in Alagaesia again. He looked over from his place on his dragon, taking in every detail of his homeland. He knew there was a slim chance he would ever see it again.

He looked down at the figure lying on the beach. The reason he was leaving his home.

He turned to face the woman on the dragon beside him. He still had the one he loved with him and that meant everything. He looked at her raven hair and angled features and remembered the happier part of his fortune telling. There is an epic romance in your future. She will be of noble birth and heritage. She is also powerful, wise and beautiful beyond compare.

He smiled at the raven-haired elf, who smiled back reassuringly. She nodded her head and the two riders flew into the unknown, ready to take on whatever awaited them.

A home sick-man sat leaning against a giant sapphire dragon. He remembered his home and let a tear run down his cheek.

Then he did something he never thought possible. He changed his own future.

He began to saddle his dragon and started to collect provisions for the long journey ahead.

"Where are you going," asked a raven-haired female who walked from their home. She was as beautiful as when they left their homes. The two looked as if they hadn't aged a day since they left.

The young man smiled. "Home," was his answer. It was the only answer needed. She smiled and a few seconds later a giant emerald dragon landed near them. Behind it came a white one that shone with all the colours of the rainbow. It was small; barely big enough to ride.

The woman ran into the house, and then came out holding the hand of a small girl that was no more than 5 years old.

The family collected everything they owned and attached it to the dragons. They were going back to the one place they could truly call home. The 3 dragons leapt into the sky, riders on their backs.

They all looked at each other and smiled. They were going home.
