Author's Note: Well, I just had this random thought and thought it would be kind of funny and a little endearing. You know, everyone needs a break from their stories and Marauders of Darkness 24/7 can get a little overbearing so here's just a little cute ficlet.
Lark Chizin Pearie
Gibbs walked into the bullpen and stopped right in front of his daughter. She looked up from what she was doing and smiled at him. "We need to have a talk, young lady." Gibbs said.
"'kay," she answered, giving him her full attention.
"I just got back from investigating a case and the witness was a girl that snuck out of her home and planned on making out with her boyfriend for hours. You can see how upset that makes me, don't you, Kimberly?" Gibbs questioned.
"Yeah," Kimberly replied as she fumbled around with a pen.
"Look at me, Kimberly." Gibbs ordered and Kimberly paused for a moment but turned her eyes away from the pen and towards her father. "I want you to know that if I ever find a boy in our house, I will kill him even if he's not your boyfriend. I do not want any person that is not family and is of the male species in our home. Do you understand?" Gibbs questioned sternly.
"Yeah." Kimberly repeated but turned to Tony when she noticed him trying to hold back laughter.
"Is there something funny, DiNozzo?" Gibbs demanded dangerously making Tony quickly sober up.
"No, Boss, but don't you think it's a little early for the boy talk?" Tony questioned.
Gibbs turned back to his child, who was still looking at him intently, then shook his head. "No. It's never too early." Gibbs answered, frowning.
Tony let loose a small and short smile but quickly became serious once more as he walked over to Kimberly and stood beside Gibbs. "Kimberly?" Tony called out.
"Yeah?" Kimberly asked. It seemed that this would be her most commonly used word for the day.
"Kimberly, do you know what your dad is talking about?" Tony asked.
Kimberly shrugged slightly and shook her head. "Nope." Kimberly answered.
"Were you paying attention to me at all, Kimberly?" Gibbs asked, annoyed.
"Yeah!" Kimberly quickly answered, sensing her father's sudden frustration.
"Then why don't you understand what I'm saying?" Gibbs inquired.
Before Kimberly could answer, Tony quickly cut in. "Boss, it might be that this topic is a little complicated for such a young soul. I mean, come on. You have to admit that it might be a tad bit early for the boys talk, right?" Tony asked.
Gibbs scowled darkly at him and growled, "I told you, DiNozzo, it's never too early for the boy talk."
"Okay…" Tony mumbled then tried a different tactic. "Look at her, Boss. Just look at her. Does it look like she'll be bringing home a boy anytime soon?" Tony questioned.
Gibbs looked at him suspiciously but conceded and looked down at his daughter. The toddler still had a smile on her face as she looked up at her father and godfather with bright blue eyes. "Boys icky." Kimberly announced, turning to her piece of scratch paper and drawing random scribbles with her pen.
Tony beamed with pride. "I taught her that."
