Summary: Caroline had some very good reasons for not liking Damon, she's just too good of a friend to say them.
A/N: Let me preface this by saying I'm not a Damon hater, I just think that Caroline has very valid reasons for not liking him.
Caroline had some very good reasons for not like Damon. The first was was because he used to be a serial killer, he had killed a lot of people. The others may have forgotten or may not remember, but she remembered. Although she supposed that Stephen had killed people too and if she were to hate someone solely based on having killed a lot of people she would have to hate Stephen as well.
The second reason was that he was so...unpredictable. If he was in a mood he was just as likely to kill someone as not kill someone, that and he had no problem with taking a life. He might try to do it another way, but it was more for Elena's sake if he did so that for any kind of guilt he might feel at the act. But she could overlook that as well, sometimes even if they didn't like to admit it they needed someone who would the hard thing to keep the rest of them safe. He was also rude, pretty much to anyone who wasn't named Elena, but that was also something she could overlook.
She could overlook all these reasons, but the last reason was harder to overlook. She wasn't sure why but everyone else seemed to have forgotten all about it, but she hadn't, she hadn't forgotten at all. She remembered all about it, all about back when she was human and Damon had used her, terrified her, and then compelled her again and again to forget about all the terrible things he had done to her. Part of her wanted to scream these things at Elena when she had the gall to seem like she was being unreasonable for not liking Damon but she didn't, she never did. Elena was her friend and had been through a lot lately, she deserved happiness but that didn't mean that she had to like who had chosen to have it with. Caroline was nothing if not a good friend.
