Chat Noir was on patrol today. He didn't know how, but he somehow ended up at Merinette's house. He looked through her window and saw her tossing and turning. She started mumbling something that Chat didn't quite understand. He tilted his head to the side in confusion. Was his princess having a nightmare? Or was she just too uncomfortable? He didn't know. He stared at her for a moment longer, then noticed that a tear was streaming down her cheek. Ok, so maybe she was having a bad dream.

Chat slowly but quietly opened the window to make sure she was ok. He was tip toeing over to her, when suddenly, she woke up crying. He didn't know what to do. Apparently, he's been standing in his spot for longer than he wanted to, because he noticed Merinette squeezing him. She was sobbing, and muttering something like, "I thought I lost you. Don't ever do that again!"

"Princess, are you alright?" He asked, voice barely above a whisper. While placing his hand on her head.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again!" Merinette sobbed.

"Princess, it was just a dream. I came in through the window like I always do. C'mon, let's get you back to bed."

Merinette tightened her grip on Chat, letting him know that he could carry her, nodded her head, and continued sobbing and sniffling. Chat Noir picked her up and carried her to bed. Once he laid her down, he gave her a quick kiss on her forehead.

"Goodnight, princess."

He turned around to leave, when he felt Meri's hand find his wrist. He turned around to see her struggling to keep her tears in.

"Chat," she began, her voice barely above a whisper, "don't leave, please. I-I-I don't think that I'll be able to go back to sleep after that."

"Sure thing, princess."

He crawled up to her and wrapped his arms around her while she rested her head on his chest.

"Y'know, I don't know what I would do if I lost you."

"Me neither. And Merinette, you know you're my everything, right?"

She closed her eyes and replied, "Your mine too, kitty."

A couple minutes later, Chat Noir and Merinette were sound asleep, the only sound that of Chat purring.
