Of Dwarves and Elves
Dwarves don't like elves. Elves don't like dwarves. The races have never been able to co-mingle very peacefully. Both sides have their own reasons, that they will very adamantly and boisterously declare for the dislike. Listing them here would take far, far to long, and only serve to inflame both races. Gimli had never trusted an elf, and if you asked him, he would proudly state he never would. Legolas had never trusted a dwarf, and had no intentions to do so. Oddly enough, a few days into the quest to destroy the ring, both were feeling a sort of grudging friendship towards each other. They found themselves trusting the other to "have each other's back" , so to speak, in battles, and they found they actually had much in common. Maybe, just maybe, they were wrong about each other. Maybe they could actually be friends? Both looked at each other, and shrugged. "Never." was the conclusion both Elf and Dwarf came to.
