Clouds
"You're going to fall."
The voice broke through Isabella's daydreams and pulled her out. Blinking in surprise she turned her head towards her companion.
"What?"
Ferb rolled his eyes. He really didn't like repeating himself.
"I said that you're going to fall."
Isabella looked around, expecting to see a cliff edge. But when all she could see was flat ground and grass she looked at Ferb in confusion. He sighed.
"Your head's in the clouds. You're going to take a nasty fall once you realize how high you are."
Isabella smiled when it finally dawned on her once she got what Ferb was talking about.
"I won't fall too far." She assured him. "A cloud will catch me." The older teenager looked at her like she had gone crazy.
"Clouds are made out of water vapor." He said slowly. "You'll just fall through them."
"Ah, but can't you float on water?"
"Not on water in the sky."
"You really think that Phineas is going to let me get hurt?" The Phineas-centaur appeared again in her vision, arms outstretched. Ferb was about to ask how the heck his younger brother was brought in the conversation when he saw that she had acquired the dreamy look again.
"Phineas is the wrong person to fall into."
"Wait, what?" Isabella snapped her head back to Ferb but he had started to walk away. She caught up to him. "What do you mean by that?"
"He's fire."
"Fire? Do you mean 'fiery'?"
Ferb stopped and faced Isabella.
"Fire doesn't hurt you intentionally. But it still hurts."
Isabella tried to make sense of it all.
"Are you saying that even if Phineas catches me I will get hurt anyways?"
Ferb nodded. "That's why he emits smoke."
Isabella just stood there.
"Smoke gets into your lungs and blinds you. It tries to stop you from going forward, to keep you from going into the fire."
Isabella nodded. She knew what he meant.
"That's why you're here, Ferb." She replied.
"Really?"
"Yeah. You're a storm cloud. You clear the smoke and dim the fire enough so I'm able to get close enough to control it. Your water soothes the damage the smoke and fire did."
She reached up to give Ferb a kiss on the cheek. Then she walked away, leaving Ferb to stand there confused.
