Korra and Mako are in the dining room in Air Temple Island, with Bolin, Asami, Tonraq, Senna, Tenzin, Pema, and the airbending kids. They were sitting around the dining table, and since there were so many of them, they were all seated to each other with around one inch space between them. Mako and Korra thought it was a perfect excuse to hold each other tighter and closer to each other. They had just announced to their family and friends that they were already engaged.

"So when are you getting married?" Jinora asked the newly engaged couple.

"Um, we haven't set a date for the wedding yet," Mako answered.

"We can do it now!" Ikki suggested, prompting the rest of them to laugh.

"Weddings are planned, Ikki. We can't just have a wedding ceremony right here and now, especially when we want it to be really special," Korra explained, then smiled sweetly at Mako.

"I'm happy for both of you and I support you two," Tenzin said as Korra and Mako turned to him, "but isn't it a little too early for you to get married?"

Mako and Korra looked at each other.

"In the Water Tribe, early marriages are actually the norm," Tonraq justified, shrugging before continuing, "In fact, the marrying age for my people is 16."

"Really?" Bolin reacted, incredulous. Tonraq nodded while grunting his affirmation.

"Well," Mako proposed, "since Korra and I haven't set a wedding date yet, I might as well set a condition for Korra before I will marry her."

"And what would that condition be?" Korra responded, raised her eyebrow.

"You must master airbending, and complete your Avatar training."

Tenzin and Tonraq were surprised. Korra thought about it for a few seconds.

"Alright!" Korra agreed enthusiastically.

Everybody cheered.

"Thank you, Mako. I wasn't expecting that," Tenzin told Mako, smiling.

"Yeah. Me, too," Tonraq added, grinning.

"No problem," was Mako's reply.

"And speaking of which," Tonraq said to Mako, "I am also giving you a condition before I will allow you to finally take my daughter as your wife."

"What condition, sir?"

"I'm requiring you to grow a long, pointy beard just like mine," Tonraq commanded while stroking his beard.

"A… beard?" Mako couldn't believe what his father-in-law-to-be had just said.

"I can help you with that," Tenzin offered, placing a hand on Mako's shoulder.

"What?" Mako turned to Tenzin, aghast.

"Daaad," Korra muttered reprovingly at her father.

"Of course, I'm just kidding, son!" Tonraq chuckled and punched Mako's arm. Now everybody was laughing.
