The one ring shimmered strangely in the light as Bilbo slipped it on. Suddenly the gloom of the cave was pierced by a bright red light.
Bilbo glanced up at it and it appeared to be some sort of blade. The blade show down through the air and Gollum who was peering straight at it swallowed it whole, and it went clear through him burying itself up to its hilt in the stone of Gollum's island.
Gollum spasmed and writhed as blood leaked out of the gaping hole in his body and then he died. The ground around the blade was starting to turn red, and Bilbo catiously approached it. Bilbo pulled the blade out of the ground and it seemed to hum with a strange energy. Bilbo experimently swung the blade through the water and a large cloud of steam rose up.
Noticing a small button on the side of the weapon, Bilbo pressed it and the red blade disappeared. Bilbo pressed it again and the blade appeared again. Bilbo smiled, this was going to be a great help on their quest.
