Muhahahaha...
Unless something has been posted in the past twenty minutes, I do believe I have the second Neighbors fanfic to be written.
...all two hundred words of it...
Electricity.
It was a thing taken for granted back on their home planet, and even here on Earth the humans rarely thought anything of it. Electricity ran the planet, appeared at the flick of a switch, and did the most amazing things.
But why had the humans deemed it necessary make it so much more dangerous than it really needed to be? The Zabronians had never managed to electrocute themselves back home.
Well, that was at least what Larry Bird had told Dick Butkus time and time again when the young alien had been fooling around with the human brand of electricity. Larry Bird was flat out refusing to admit to his own isolated moment of stupidity. No one needed to know that the great commander had had a moment of failure.
Dick had been playing with the human electrical circuits since he first picked up a screwdriver, and he still couldn't figure out why these circuits were so much more complicated and dangerous than they needed to be.
In the end, he could find only one reasonable explanation: the humans really were as his father said. They were just like gerbils. Cute, but they weren't one of the brightest species in the universe. They had best be glad their alien friends had yet to find a real reason to take over their silly planet.
I feel proud of myself now for some reason...
By the way, The Neighbors returns to ABC on Friday, September 20th. ^_^
