So, I haven't seen the new Spider-Man movie yet, but based on what I've heard, I kinda wanted to get my Peter & Gwen happiness out there now before I do . . .

"Okay. Okay. I've just gotta tell you this one thing."
"The last time you said that it didn't go so well . . ." Her smile is teasing, knowing how awkward he feels. He thinks she can read his mind sometimes, only unfortunately, it's usually when he doesn't want her to be able to.
"Really? Really?" His voice is playfully incredulous, hiding the nausea he feels rising. "Cause I'm okay with how the last thing turned out."
"I guess maybe you're right." She looks at him out of the corner of her eye, her smile gentler now. She's taking pity on him.
He stares in silence over the city, pointedly not looking at her. The wind ruffles his hair, but still he doesn't move.
"Peter?"
"Hmm?" He eyes her carefully.
"What did you want to tell me?" she prods gently.
"Oh. Right, um, yeah. So . . . I've been bitten?"
She snorts as she is brought back to their first conversation that began like this again. "By what now? A radioactive cow?"
"Gwen!" His voice is whining. He had almost built up enough nerve . . .
"I'm kidding. What do you want to tell me? Come on, Peter! I won't bite you."
"It's important. I've just gotta tell you this one more thing . . . I'm gonna throw up." He does look a little green.
"Wow. Earth-shattering. Do you need medical attention?" Her voice changes from teasing to concerned as he swallows painfully.
"No! That's not the thing!"
"Peter?" She takes his hand, and he blushes. She raises her eyebrow.
"Okay. Okay. I, um . . . Imahbeinlovwifou."
"Excuse me?"
"I might . . . I think I love you, Gwen."
He extracts his hand from her grip to hide his face behind it, peeking out from between his fingers to gauge her reaction. She smiles and pulls them away, drawing him closer.
"I think I might love you too, Peter Parker."
Reviews are confidence-boosters! Just no spoilers, please! I'd like to think I don't know everything yet from the trailers, although that might be optimistic . . .
