Hey guys! Yes yes I know I've taken a REALLY long time to do another story, but hey I warned you people that I can be lazy.

Anyway this is just a short fic that I just wrote. Well anyway it's just Kataras thoughts after the failed invasion of the Fire nation.

Anyway I hope you enjoy!

Toph: Aren't you forgetting something?

Me: No…

Me: OW! What was that for!?!

Toph: Just get the disclaimer over with already!

Me: But I don't wanna! How about this, you do it for me. And I'll read you Sokkas diary.

Toph: DEAL! Okay seeing as the author is too much of a wuss to do it herself; I'll be doing the disclaimer today. Ahem Golden Warrior does not own Avatar the last Air bender.

The silence. It was all I could think about. And what it meant for our group to be so withdrawn. It's not like I don't understand what caused this behavior. I knew all to well that the reason behind this, was our failed invasion.

But now as we escape to the Western air temple, I can't help but think back to what happened on that wretched battlefield. I had watched helplessly as comrade after comrade lost their lives and freedom, to reach a peace hat seemed almost unattainable. To know that my father and many other friends were left to face the fire nations evil wrath. It seems almost impossible to stop this war now.

But I know that this isn't the time to wallow in self pity or any of that nonsense. I know that I must at least try and pull myself together. Even if it means having to wear a mask of courage, or bottle up my emotions, I'll do it. Because right now, after everything we have been through I'm not going to give up. Not after all the sacrifices that have already been made. I will keep fighting. As long as I have the ability to, I'll make sure that this war comes to an end. One way or another I will find a way.
