Leo's Practice

Raph shuffled into the kitchen and grabbed a glass from the cubbard, he froze, listening.

"It feels like your life's crashing down all around you.
Let me ask if it's really so bad?
Look at the world in it's suffering...
Can you honestly tell me that no one else could understand all the hurting inside?"

He turned and moved toward the Dojo, peeking inside. Leo was standing by a radio, singing to the music.

"Why can't you see that freedom is sometimes simply another perspective away?
Who could you be if your lens was changed for a moment?
Would you still be the same?"

Raph gasped. Leaning against the door and listened. A smile forming.

"A young child looks through a great stained glass window...
Watching the people go by...
Everyone seems to be wearing a red coat...
His mother sees jackets in white...
Now he can't understand...why does she see it this way?"

Leo turned and smiled sadly, eyes brimming with coming tears. Raph swallowed and started to move forward, but froze not wanting to move not wanting to interupt.

"Why can't you see that freedom is sometimes simply another perspective away?
Who could you be if your lens was changed for a moment?
Would you still be the same?"

Raph closed his eyes. Leo's voice quivered a moment and then came back stronger, he was pouring his heart into this song.

"Yesterday, you really couldn't see..
By changing your angle a new world would be revealed to your once blinded eyes...by moving a few degrees..."

Raph smiled as Leo continued, tears forming in his own eyes. Leo looked determined to finish the song.

"Why can't you see that freedom is sometimes simply another perspective away?
Who could you be if your lens was changed for a moment?
Would you still be the same?"

Leo sang the last verse twice before sinking to the ground.

Raph stepped forward as the song ended, Leo was on his knees, tears streaming.

"No," Raph whispered. Leo jumped and stood up quickly, whipping tears away, looking embarassed.

"I wouldn't be the same," Raph whispered softly," That was amazing bro." Leo smiled.

"Thanks Raph," Leo whispered.
