Blue.
Ever since his premature death, everything that was blue reminded her of him. The sky. A child's balloon. Her own eyes whenever she looked in the mirror.
It was painful but it couldn't be helped. She couldn't hide forever to mourn his death. He wouldn't have wanted that. She knew he would want her to be happy even if he wasn't there anymore. He would want her to move on and live her life.
They were to be married in a couple of months. They were in love. They were opposites of each other but they made each other whole. What he didn't have, she did and vice versa. One couldn't live without the other. Sure, they fought but in the end, the making up part was always something to look forward to.
His death was unexpected. The doctor had discovered cancer that was too late to treat on a check-up and had given him a year to live. Both she and Mokuba had urged him to get a check-up since he haven't had one in a few years and they were worried about his health because of how hard he worked. He was only 27.
After the diagnosis, Seto, Anzu, and Mokuba, had all spent every minute they could together. They didn't want to waste time crying and thinking about the cancer so they decided to do more productive things like playing games, eating meals, or just watching the sunset together.
Both Seto and Anzu had decided to get married the week after the diagnosis since they didn't have much time left together. They had a small wedding consisting of her friends and of course Mokuba in the backyard of the Kaiba Mansion.
During his final months, both Anzu and Mokuba had made everything as comfortable as they could for him because he was weak and had to be in bed. They still did things together during those months such as reading or watching television together.
After a year since his death, it was still painful like it only happened yesterday. She thought of him every day and would cry herself to sleep. No matter how hard it was she knew that she had to stay strong and move on with her life.
As she stared out the window of her room in the Kaiba Mansion, she knew that someday, they would be reunited again.
