Naive - The Kooks

Lily's head was thrown back in laughter, her toes dipped in sand and the radio playing loudly. Her friends surrounded her and magic was forgetful; she was lost in being a teenager. The heat from the bonfire warmed her bones, the cigs, drinks and whatever else was passed around, puffpuffpass, and she was drunk with carelessness.

"It's cleared then?" She overheard Elijah, wild curls and brown eyes, ask Chris, the only boy here with a Patrol Officer.

"Yeah, checked with some of other kids that live here, shark free."

Lily was blatantly ignoring the conversation and listening to the two teenage boys conversation. Noticing that they were being overheard, Lily swung her legs over the tree log acting as a seat for her and everyone else. She took a drag from her cig before looking at each boy; "What's going on?" She asked them.

They both grinned at her, and Lily smiled back easily.

"Ever heard of cliff-diving?"

._.

"Do you trust me?"

His eyes find her, and he nods.

She smiled softly, and grabs his hand.

"Good. I know you're going to love this."

He smiles back, a bit weakly. He wasn't sure how to feel about this, sure the concept seems fun, but when you're on the edge, looking down, everything seems much more ominous.

"James," Lily says, sliding out of her shirt to expose her bikini top. "I know it looks scary at first, but you've done worst then this. It's just a bit of Muggle fun."

She was grinning widely, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

He knew this meant a lot to her, and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. As long as she was beside him, holding his hand, he felt confident.

His fear vanished, replacing itself with excitement. "Yeah, yeah, alright."

"Let's go."

They're running to the edge again, now, faster—adrenalin coursed through him—and they leaped, jumping off the edge together, laughing as they descent to the waters.
