Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. Obviously.

"Class today we're going to be studying a new type of magical item called a Child Mirror." McGonagall announced, holding up a small hand held mirror with symbols craved into the handle.

"This type of enchanted mirror allows the user to view their future offspring at the age of 10 years old. The child shown would be the product of the mating of you and your soulmate. The mirror does not account for deaths and there is no guarantee that the child will ever come to exist it. It is an unsure magic, but entertaining none the less. If both partners were to live though and conceive a child there is a guarantee this is what they would look like."

McGonagall gave a sad distant look at the mirror seeing, no doubt, the child she and her soulmate should have had. With a soft sigh she turned to the class and smiled.

"Now I'm going to call you all up randomly one at a time, but be quick every so everyone gets a turn!" She instructed sternly.

Some students gave questioning looks, while others blushed at what they saw. It was fun to watch how some reacted.

When Hermione's turn came she blushed all the way down to the roots of her hair, but smiled contently as she walked back to her seat. Ron went next and while he was up there Harry turned to Hermione and asked what she'd seen. With a bright energetic smile she whispered with pride: "My daughter had red hair!"

Harry smiled at his friend before leaning over towards Ron as he returned to his seat

"Let me guess, she had Hermione's eyes."

With a bright red face Ron nodded sheepishly in response.

Finally it was Harry's turn to look into the mirror and as he stared into its depths an image began to form through the murkiness. She was a small child, very petite and sweet looking. Her eyes were bright emerald like his and her hair was a light shade of blonde that went perfectly with her pale skin.

He only knew one person in his life who was that shade of blonde. He smirked inwardly at the thought.

His eyes strayed to the front row of the Slytherin section and back to the mirror quickly. The resemblance was uncanny. She'd have Draco's hair and there was something in the shaping of her nose that just screamed Malfoy heritage.

Harry gave the mirror to Professor McGonagall and returned to his seat, smiling a soft knowing smile.

Draco was his soulmate huh? He never would have dreamed she'd have blonde hair. Draco would be so jealous she'd have his emerald eyes though. The thought made his smile widen and chanced a glance at his secret boyfriend across the room as he went up for his own turn. He was in for quite a shock.

Hermione eyed him strangely when he sat down, waiting for him to tell her what he'd seen.

When it became apparent he wasn't going to say anything Hermione poked him to get his attention away from the Slytherin in the front of the room who was blushing the faintest hint of pink at what he saw.

"What did you see?" She questioned, her voice intrigued while still annoyed at the lack of response

Harry smiled at her absently, as he and Draco locked eyes from across the room, both starring at each other dreamily.

"Pretty much what I expected to see." He whispered honestly, half lost in a daydream of the future ahead.

A future that had never looked so bright.
