Why the hell did you say 'yes', Jack's mind moaned. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
However, he hadn't declined Rock's request to join the blond on some type of flower-smelling quest, so he was stuck with the task. Hell, he wasn't even sure why he had agreed to such a ridiculous outing, but the farm was in good shape and the crops practically grew themselves. His one cow was exceedingly independent, and he had no lady friend to speak of. Takakura wasn't exactly the most exciting person to hang out with-- or stalk, whichever Jack felt like that day.
The tan older man beamed at the newly-bloomed Goddess Drops, taking in whiffs at their soap-like aroma. He opened amber eyes to gaze upon the weeds. "Aren't they pretty?"
Jack grunted, finding it a tedious activity. "Name sounds like a Goddess crapped 'em."
Rock grimaced, but smirked after a half-second, letting out a soft chuckle. He nodded in agreement, hurriedly dashing to a gaggle of toyflowers, a very generic looking plant. Jack trudged after him, resting his cool brown eyes on the next set of boredom producers. He had to admit, these let out a dazzling scent that reminded him of baby powder. He smiled slightly in contradiction with his previous mood. The other man seemed glad for this, and continued to step through the garden near the spring so as to get a closer look. Jack was not prepared when the blond proceeded to pick one of the flowers with an almost inaudible snap as the stem was broken. An outstretched hand offered it as a gift to the farmer.
One chestnut eyebrow flew up and the other stayed as the man's mud-brown eyes narrowed in disbelief. "What?" He demanded with in wavering tone as his face took the shade of a brilliant scarlet rose.
Rock looked suddenly confused. "You can profit from flowers, can't you?"
Even more embarrassed, Jack let out an "Oh!" before a vibrating gloved hand retrieved the plant from the idle, tanned man. Finding that his pocket was much too full of rocks, he slipped it into his shirt pocket so as to not spoil it. He saw a flash of white teeth in a wolfish smile before Rock turned back to gather more flowers and sniff at them. Trying to conceal his bashful look, Jack did his very best to act as enthusiastic as possible about the activity. This was somehow a thousand times less difficult as before-- it probably had to do with the flowers, and the brainwashing aroma that had them cornered.
