Hello!

I don't even know where to begin. I loved the movie and the characters and everything! In fact, one of the main reasons that I started this story was simply to play with the characters. There's just so much I want to do with this movie. ^^

Anyway, this is the first chapter—short prologue, I guess. It's not much, but I just wanted to introduce my story and open it up to any ideas that any of you may have. Also, if anybody is interested, I'm looking for someone who would be willing to beta this story. Not grammar, but content. I'd like someone who enjoys this story and is willing to help me develop it even further, which is why I'm making a personal plea in this author note instead of the more traditional beta search.

Random details? Maybe about one to two thousand words per chapter. Several OCs, but not for the sake of romance. Speaking of romance, I guess I'm going along with the movie's predisposition towards the pairing of Hiccup and Astrid. What else? Oh, I'm also planning a Toothless/Cloudjumper fic to satisfy my desires, so there's that to look forward to if any of you are interested in that pairing. I guess that's it!

Thank you so much for reading my story (or at least clicking the link).

Ideas? Comments? Hate? Love? I don't care. Reviews of any kind would be wonderful! ^^

News of Drago's death spread quickly throughout the Barbaric Archipelago, telling not only of an end to his tyrannical rule over both humans and dragons, but also of the heroism of the dragon master who stopped him. Many of these tales about Hiccup's endeavors, although often exaggerated, did him justice, particularly highlighting the special bond that he shared with his dragon, Toothless. Through the stories that would surely be passed down from generation to generation, Hiccup and Toothless had made their mark and would certainly be remembered for their bravery and camaraderie.

Unfortunately, not everyone took the victory with such gaiety. Unlike the others who had rejoiced, celebrating the hopeful coming of an era of peace with feasts and festivals, Eret, father of Eret and chief of a small dragon trapping island called Kaupa, was only troubled by the news. Upon hearing of Drago's defeat, he assumed the worst—that the fall of that awful tyrant also meant the death of his own son, Eret, who had been impressed into Drago's workforce years ago to supply him with dragons for his army. As much as he would have liked to liberate his son, his own people's strength could not match that of Drago's dragon army. Because of his fear for both his son and his people, he could only hope that Eret could meet Drago's quotas.

And the new dragon master! How could his people be so blind to the inevitable future? Surely this new dragon master, Hiccup, would soon turn to conquest when he realized the power that he possessed; he could very well be the second coming of Drago. It was only a matter of time before the dark cloud of oppression loomed over them all.

But what really troubled him was that his son had perished alongside Drago, which had broken Eret, who had no one else to love aside from his beloved son. His grief turned to anger, and that anger fueled his selfish ambition to avenge the one and only person left that mattered to him. This time, however, he would not wait for the enemy. He would strike first. He–Eret, father of Eret and chief of Kaupa–would eliminate the dragon master before he became a threat.
