Understanding Forever
Ginevra Molly Weasley was no lady in waiting. No, sir! She didn't believe in dreaming of the past or hoping for future illusions. She didn't need to be protected or rescued. Never did. Well, that may be a lie, but wasn't it all?
Ginny rolled back another time in her bed, she must have insomnia or something because she should had been asleep by this time. Well, if so, she must have a huge problem, because she has been dealing with this lack of sleep for 6 weeks. It actually had a name, but for Ginny it was He-That-Should-Not-Be-In-Your-Mind.
Stop thinking about him, she told herself as she closed her eyes. But there are some things that you just can't control, like memories. They happened and you can't do anything to change them. Ginny got a lot of awful memories herself, most of them were related to a certain Chambers of Secrets, but one thing that she never, ever, thought would happen was a good, bright memory becoming a painful one. Like the one that has been haunting her, for six weeks.
"And if I had to be an Animagus, I'd be an elephant."
Ginny had been answering Harry's questions for almost half an hour now. He wanted to know things about her. "The little things that really matter, you know", he said. "Like if you drinking or eating chocolate".
"An elephant? But it has nothing to do with you!" – Harry said sounding surprised.
"I'm supposed to choose, right? Then, I wanna be an elephant. I like the way they are, you know, caring, cute, adorable…Well, they are a lot like me" – she answered with some kind of thoughtful expression .But she couldn't help but smile at her own conclusion.
"No way! You look like a cat…"
"A cat? Why do I look like a cat? Cats are lazy."
"Then you definitely is a cat" – Harry said with a chuckle, what Ginny intended to get away from his face as she slightly punched his arm, but the opposite happened and he started laughing – "No violence, Gin! See, like I was saying, you're so feline!"
"Gods! I'm not having this conversation with you Harry!"
"Why not? I guess it's the way you walk..."
Ginny deeply gazed at him and then said:
"You'd be a dragon…You look like one. And you smell like one too."
"Hey! If we are starting the offenses here…"
"Well, darling" – the red haired girl said putting a finger on the green eyed boy's nose – "you asked for it. Don't you know I'm a dog person?"
And finally, she shut up. Because he kissed her. Fiercely. And yet, he was so gentle. And Ginny didn't even know if it was possible, but while they were kissing, they were laughing too. That was...awesome.
But it was gone now. It was past. It was over. It was just a memory. I was not real anymore. It was not present. It was gone. Gone.
But that was also a lie, wasn't it?
It was present then, but somehow it was present now, because she didn't even remember it because she has never forgotten, and that makes it never over. Never over. It can't be over when it is with you everyday, in your bittersweet cries, in your prayers, in the air you breathe, in your god dammed memories….What is it called when it goes on, all the time?
Oh, yeah, forever.
Forever.
