Call Me Bones, A Bones Fanfic

Disclaimer: 'Bones' is the copyrighted work of its writers, producers and Fox. Seeing as I am none of those, I do not own 'Bones'.

A/N: That's right folks. I went there.

"Who are you?"

Temperance Brennan is not a woman who is easily shocked. But hearing her partner, the man she loved – no she couldn't think about that now – ask her who she was… That had to be enough to put anyone over the edge. She steadied herself by placing one hand on either side of his legs, while maintaining her stance at the side of his bed.

She couldn't find any words to say. She could only stare at him, dumbfounded, with tears forming in her eyes.

"Bren?" He asked her, thinking of the woman he had spent the past days with. The woman who was his wife, carrying his child. The woman he owned a nightclub with, and made love to at any opportunity.

She blinked, and said in the way that only she could. "I'm Doctor…. I'm Doctor Temperance Brennan, yes."

"You're," he stammered, reaching for her left hand. "You're not wearing your wedding ring."

Now, as if it was even possible, Temperance Brennan became even more baffled. "Booth… I'm not married."

"But you're Bren. I mean, you look just like her. You have to be."

She was crying now. Broken. Back to the fifteen year old who's family had left her behind. "No… Booth… No," she choked shaking her head.

"Bren!" He yelled, obviously concerned for the woman before him.

"No!" She cried out. "No, Booth, stop calling me that. Call me Bones, you always call me Bones."

Suddenly, his memories overtook him. All the holes in his mind were filled in. His abusive father, unhappy childhood, time in the army, Parker, and finally, his work in the FBI with Brennan and all the other squints.

Brennan seemed to sense the realization that Booth had, and smiled, showing him that she knew that he remembered.

"God, Bones," He smiled as he took her hand. "You won't believe the dream I had."

A/N 2: Hi guys! It has been a while, has it not? This is my obligatory post ep for 'The End in the Beginning', and I hope you liked it! *nudge**nudge**REVIEW!* :D Anyways, I wrote this fic the way I did, because Brennan is such a big part of Booth's life, that if he forgets her, he forgets the things that make him who he is... Thus without her, he is not himself. Just my newest little brain child XD.

Thanks for reading and PLEASE review! :D
