Cameron's words weigh heavily as you watch her walk away.
I loved you. And I loved Chase. I'm sorry for you both. For what you've become because…there's no way back for either of you.
You find yourself taking a few steps. Following her into the hallway.
"Cameron," you call.
She turns. "What is it, House?"
You find yourself tongue-tied.
Don't go. I need you. I always have.
Your eyes meet.
There is a way back.
Instead, you shake your head, your eyes falling steadily to the ground.
Cameron gives you one last lingering look.
She walks away, as she has many times before. This one will be the last.
You turn back to your office, finding that you can hardly breathe.
Suffocating under the weight of all the things you didn't say.
