Forever and Always
His nerves grew even worse as he approached the entrance to her farm. He saw her out in the fields, her brunette hair swinging in her face as she watered a tomato plant. She was so beautiful, it was hard for him to tear himself away from watching her work, so surely, so steadily, doing the same things she had done everyday since she first moved to the Sunshine Islands.
Chelsea had just finished watering her crops and was moving into the barn to take care of her cow. There was no more time to wait. Trying to calm the billions of butterflies in his stomach, he walked up behind her. Chelsea was kneeling over her cat, cooing to it softly. Taking a deep breath, he pulled the blue feather out of his pocket.
"Umm excuse me," he started, clearing his throat. "I believe you may have dropped this." He held out the blue feather.
Chelsea turned around to see the man looming over her. With a broad smile, she said, "Oh Vaughn, I didn't see you there." She looked down at his hand where the feather rested delicately. Blushing, she responded, "U-umm no I-I-I don't think its m-mine." She was barely able to stammer out the sentence because she thought she knew what was coming next.
This is it, thought Vaughn. I've practiced this to the mirror a thousand times. Blushing ferociously he asked, "Would you like it to be yours? My heart along with it. To be with you and to show my unconditional love to you forever and always is my dream. I love you Chelsea. Will you marry me?" By the time he reached the end, Vaughn was no longer nervous because everything he was saying was what he felt. He loved Chelsea with all his heart and he could only hope that she felt the same.
Chelsea was surprised at Vaughn's confession of love. It was so beautiful and it made her love for him blaze even more passionately.
"Yes. Yes of course I'll marry you Vaughn. I love you so much and I know we can be happy together, forever and always." She wrapped her arms around his neck and he hugged her back tightly.
Chelsea grabbed the feather from his hands and he released her from the hug. She looked up at his smiling face and leaned in, stealing the feather, stealing his love, and softly stealing his lips.
