A/U, pairings of the twins with OC's (maybe, tee hee), mainly focused on
the twins and Anakin, though the adults will play an integral role in later
chapters. Onward, denizens!
Oh, yes, [insert standard disclaimer here] (though I'm not quite so nervous these days about getting sued, not since the WB came after me . . . nope, nothing scares me now!)

When we were very young my uncle used to read to us. He'd tell tales of the old Jedi, the Knights of the Old Republic. Sometimes he'd tell us about battles he'd fought in space, and creatures he'd encountered. My brother and I would listen with rapt attention.
Back then, a four-year-old Jacen was fascinated by the stories of cruisers and star craft. Contrary to his own wild and animalistic nature, he was positively smitten with the idea of flying through space. And, though I was the more technically inclined twin, I found myself preoccupied with thoughts of diplomacy. I longed to hear more about the Senate and my grandmother, the ambassadorial and adventurous woman that she had been.
My uncle watched all this with a keen eye. Raising twins is a monumental task in and of itself, but when the force is involved, the potential problems multiply innumerably. He obviously expected us to turn out like our parents. In his mind, which could so rarely be peeked into, Jacen would go to the Academy and I would become a politician. There was no way he could know that thirteen years later his plans would come so far unfurled.
At age 17, Jacen and I don't look much alike anymore. When we were young we were very similar, in everything from hair color to ridiculous jumpsuits. As we grew, my hair darkened considerably. He often accuses me of dying it, and though I've considered it several times, I never have. His, on the contrary, has grown infinitely lighter, turning a very dark, very dirty blond.
At night we go out dancing. This is not only "unacceptable behavior for youngsters of our stature", but also rather dangerous. Some would say it's because of our famous parentage that we are such constant targets for kidnapping attempts. Jacen and I know differently, though we would never say so to anyone but each other.
The clubs we go to are ones at which we can remain anonymous, not a difficult task in the immensity of Coruscant. We often frequent a club called, fittingly, X. It's a hotspot for people our age, and it's easy to get lost in the crowd. Unfortunately for us, total anonymity is impossible, as we discovered one night.
