Summary: Jeva future fic little angsty. Reva considers life after Josh is injured.
Authors Note: Dedicated to the memory of my friend David killed in a road accident at the age of 33 on September 16th 2009. Always in my thoughts and my heart.
Reva Shayne stood at the foot of the bed watching the sleeping occupant, tears slowly trickling down her cheeks. She had held it together ever since it had happened, focusing only on infrming people not wanting them to see her as weak. Now all alone with him she could feel the fear settle in her chest. What if he died? How in the name of the Lord would she survive? Jeffrey's death had near driven her insane , but to lose Josh? She didn't think she could go on after that. He was her rock. The person she went to when things got really crazy which in her life was most of the time. Even when they were with other people he was the one she wanted to share things with.
Rick had said that the next twelve hours were critical to his by the bed she bowed and did some she hadn't done in years. She prayed. ''God please let him pull through this. We need him. I need him. He's the love of my life. We've just gotten married. Again. I can't lose him please. He has to see his grandkids grow up. Our kids need their daddy even if they are adults now. We are meant to grow old together please, just please let survive please.''
The tears were coming faster now. Leaning head on Josh's arm, Reva cried whispering a tearsoaked plea. ''Come on Bud wake up for me you swore you'd never leave me again'' Sleep came soon after.
The gentle fingers upon her wrist woke her from a fitful, restless sleep. Opening her eyes slowly Reva saw something she feares she'd never have the good fotune again. Joshua Lewis gazing at her lovingly. ''Reva'' his voice was croaky from intubation but she heard him clearly. Pulling herself up from the chair she heard him she placed a kiss on his forehead. ''I love you'' she breathed feeling that she didn't tell him nearly often enough. ''I'm going to go get a nurse okay'' she said moving slowly away from the bed until he grabbed her hand. ''I love you too and I'm not going anywhere okay?'' She nodded her head and left to find Lilian or RicLater while Josh was asleep she took a second to thank God and thought that maybe He was listening after all.
