How I think 2x17 should of gone when Nick chased after Jess. I'm completely new to writing fics about New Girl, I normally write about The Big Bang Theory but I'm absolutely in love with Jess and Nick so yeah. Any reviews and constructive criticism is welcomed, I think I'm going to write more for these characters so please review my writing!
"Jess!" Nick shouted as she tried to walk past him holding her packet of fish sticks. He turned and grabbed her wrist that was at her side as she started to walk out which made her turn and face him. The look she gave him told him to keep on talking, which he did...
"I don't regret kissing you, okay? I don't regret it one bit because that kiss meant more to me than you'll ever understand Jess. That 10 seconds when you were in my arms, that was the best 10 seconds of my life. If someone came up to me and said I'll give you one million dollars to take back the kiss, I wouldn't accept it, I wouldn't take that kiss back for the world because it was with you."
"Seriously though Nick, a no nail oath? You though I would just sleep with one of you? Like I could help it?"
"It was me Jess. It was me that couldn't help it."
Nick moved his hand from by his side to her neck to pull her forehead against his. Jess' eyes were watering but she didn't pull away, she let his hands roam the back of her neck and let their heads touch. Jess' breathing hitched as she moved her eyes from their shoes, which were both pointing to each other, to his which were already on hers.
Nervously, she moved her right hand to the back of his head and moved her fingers through his hair assuring him she'd forgiven him for his earlier outburst in the parking spot. Nick's eyes closed as he took a deep breath before looking deep into hers once more.
The time was perfect for Nick and Jess' lips to touch again like that had done earlier in the week, and they almost did, they both wished they would, until... Schmidt entered.
Immediately, Jess pulled away from Nick's embrace quickly telling Schmidt timidly "We we're just talking."
"Yeah that's what it looks like." Schmidt answered back.
All Nick could think was that how much he hated Schmidt at that very moment, he had just poured his heart out to the girl of his dreams and his dumbass best friend has to ruin it. He almost had her... Almost.
As Schmidt blabbered on about the no nail oath all Nick could think was 'I'm going to get that girl, what ever it takes, because she's worth it.' And not once did he take his eyes off her all the time Schmidt was talking.
Nick finally snapped out of his daze on Jessica Day when Schmidt mentioned he had to kiss her to go by the rules of the oath. No, Nick wasn't going to let Schmidt kiss her, no, no, NO!
"Schmidt I'm sorry but I'm not kissing you!" Jess protested and glanced at Nick for support but before he could open his mouth to speak Schmidt replied with "Why not? You kissed Nick!"
"Yes I did, I kissed Nick. That doesn't mean I have to kiss you, I will choose who I want to kiss and who I don't want to kiss thank you. This body is off limits to you Schmidt!" She told him whilst waving her finger pointing at her body.
Nick started to over think what Jess had just said. ' 'I will choose who I want to kiss.' That means Jess obviously wanted to kiss me. 'Off limits to you Schmidt' She didn't just say 'This body is off limits' she said 'Schmidt'... Which must mean its not off limits to everyone! No Nick, you're over thinking this! '
Nick came out of his daydream when Jess raised her voice and said "I'm going to bed!"
And that was it, Schmidt had ruined the perfect moment for Jess and Nick.
As Nick laid in bed that night he thought to himself 'I'm going to get that girl, she's gonna be mine!' And yeah, one day, she probably will be his girl.
