Hello! This is just a short drabble that wouldn't bother to leave my mind so I quickly jogged it down. (I also wrote it at LJ) I love this pairing! Movieverse and slight Bookverse (I suppose). That means they are both eighteen here. My apologize for any spelling, grammar, etc. errors. Disclaimer: This is a fanfiction site so obviously there is a huge disclaimer sign hung up on the home page which goes for all of its contents as well. Review make me smile (Just so me a favor and don't flame, but friendly criticism is always welcome.) Thank You.
Song Choice: Things I'll Never Say- Avril Lavigne
He isn't exactly sure when it all started. He's sure he doesn't even want to know. He doesn't know why or how it happened. It's all very confusing for Number Four.
He stands outside of the small cabin/apartment and paces. He kicks at the dirt and watches as it swirls and dances with the air. Six left long ago, probably to get groceries. Sam wanders out the front tentatively checking out the sight. He's glad that none of them are around. He doesn't think he could handle it.
It all started when he left Sarah that day, about a month ago. He knew that Loriens only love once for eternity. He knows, well he knew, ok maybe he thought that she was the 'one'. His one true love, but when he left he began experiencing things, rather feelings for someone else. It wasn't as if he had meant to, but it seemed to have crept up on him when he had his head turned.
Four pinches the bridge of his nose and shakes his head. This isn't helping.
At first he thought it was just getting closer and getting to know the person better, his friend. Then things began to happen. He would notice how deep and brown the person's eyes were at the most irrelevant times. He would notice how nice that particular
smile looked and how he would like to lean forward and kiss it.
Four kicks at the dirt once more. His jaw is set firm.
He fell in love with his best friend. He didn't even fall for Six, who he was destined to. Instead he fell for a guy, a human guy, his best-friend. It wasn't called for.
He kept his feelings to himself though. He would distance himself form Sam sometimes and turn his head before he could see the hurt in his eyes. He would call Sarah and ask about her life and about Ohio. He listened to her, but he didn't long for her as strongly as he did the first day he left. It didn't make any sense. Wasn't he supposed to long for her even more when the distance between them got greater? Then why was it somehow reversed?
Four clenches his hands and then unclenches them, repeating. He breathes through his nose before he punches the unfortunate tree. He can see the impact he made on it. Wood splits and splinters everywhere. He doesn't seem to care. He looks at the imprint of the tree and thinks about the relieved tension that went into it.
Then Sam picks the perfect times to show up. He walks through the long and tall grass of the back.
"You did that?" Sam asks once he's only a few feet away from the Lorien.
Because of you.
Number Four breathes in and then out.
"Yeah." He states still glaring at the mark as if it had anything to do with his problem.
"What the hell made you so mad that you had to relieve your tension on that poor tree?" Sam asks with a small, but still visible smirk.
Four unclenches his hands and breathes out. Most of the tension is relieved, most.
When Sam realizes that something isn't exactly right the smirk fades and worriment becomes evident in his eyes and the way his lips part.
"Nothing." He says as if it the most natural thing to say before he goes and stalks off into the cabin.
Sam wonders if he should follow.
