An old short, short Naruto fanfiction I wrote in first person.

My body ached. I couldn't move. I felt as though I was stone. The smell of blood tinted the air. I could hear someone calling to me, the voice so nostalgic, I had almost wanted to cry. Though with such pride I held, I wouldn't let it go. I lay like the undead as an embrace was given to me. I could feel him shake, his voice cracked from sorrow and worry. He kept calling my name. I could almost see his blue eyes stare wide at me. With such pride as mine, I kept strong to stay alive. I will not die. Not now, as long as this person is holding me so close, I will never banish before his eyes. I slightly raised my hand to his cheek. He clamped his hand over mine and I felt the tears shed from his eyes. Why would such a thing, cause me to smile? For him being so worried about the likes of me, did that set off contentment within me? I traced his expression with my eyes and fingers; he was shocked and held my hand tighter. "Naruto," I trembled to speak his name.

"Hold on Sasuke, help is coming." Naruto creaked gently, so gently that it seemed to sooth me. I tried to use my other hand to signal him to come closer. He did so as I used my strength to push him down and graze a kiss across his lips. I felt his tears trample over my face. All I could remember was losing consciousness, and feeling my hands drop and my eyes closing.

I had awakened in a white room. I peered over to see flowers at the side of my bed. Konoha hospital – memories fled within me. I tried sitting up. It hurt. I stared at my bandages. When I sensed a presence, I stared at the door. There stood Naruto, almost in tears. He practically tackled me back down to the bed. I kissed him deeply as he held me tight. It hurt me. I moaned lightly from the hurt. He loosened up and looked at me. Happily, I whipped the tears from his face. "Welcome back."

"I'm home."
