My Rose
McRaider
Summary: Got this into my head, it's a sequel of sorts to 'My Doctor' a story I wrote a little earlier this month.
He rarely slept anymore; he hadn't truly since the regeneration. He usually wandered the empty halls of the Tardis, listening to his music and thinking. He slept and less every time it seemed. He slowly passed the familiar door, one he passed every night, intentionally of course. As always it was open slightly, shedding the hallways light into the darkly lit room.
He never entered, he always stood and thought for a moment; Rose, Rose Tyler a girl with little money who had worked at the mall until he'd gone and blown it up. Rose, such a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl; without really thinking he slowly pushed the door open. She lay on her stomach, fast asleep curled under a mountain of blankets. He'd never understand why she felt the need to be practically buried. She never complained about being cold when she was awake. He was unsure why she'd complain asleep.
He gazed down at the beautiful pale face surrounded by the honey colored hair. She was a load of trouble, even at the best of times, but then if she'd been too much trouble he would have left her back on earth long ago. His mind wandered back to 1987, November the 7th. That had been a day when he should have left her, but he hadn't all he'd done in the end was ask her if she was sorry. He shook his hand, he used to be tougher, and stronger. What was it about this sweet little girl that turned him into such a softie?
He'd never done domestic; he never asked anyone anything more than once. No Second Chances, it was something he'd prided himself on all his lifetime. And yet here he was looking at a girl that he'd given hundreds of chance to. A young girl who had just turned twenty, a young girl who was so vibrant and full of life; he smiled as he looked at her, he knew exactly what it was about this girl…the woman.
She was his Rose, his companion; he'd had assistants before, people who periodically helped him during adventures. But this girl was so much more than an assistant, so much more to him. He shook his head, she had the ability to simply smile at him and make his entire world light up with passion and excitement.
