Kili was unsure how to react as he looked upon the beautiful elven warrior, she was leading him through the peaceful forests surrounding Rivendell. Both were there with business for Lord Elrond's court at this time. "You do not speak; what is ailing your thoughts, Master Dwarf?"

"Only what course of manner would be preferred in a situation such as this m'lady," She laughed lightly, to him it sounded as if the stars themselves were laughing along with her. "Without apprehension would be a perfectly acceptable course of manner Master Dwarf. I hear that your brother will be applying for the highborn's hospitality the moon after next… is this true?"

"It is m'lady, "She placed a affable hand on the dwarfs shoulder, "I should like to meet this brother of yours; if he is nearly as handsome as you then I do believe I might have to swap bow for axe and live under the mountain also."

"You think me handsome?" She gave a small smile, "I do. Though I fear it may be more than physical attraction." His eyes brightened, "if I may say so m'lady; I believe you may be the most awe-inspiring creature that has ever walked this earth." She laughed again, "you are mistaken; Arwen Undomiel- the Evenstar is far more regal than I, as I am only a sylvan elf."

"Regality- in my eyes- is of far less importance than character- of which you have much- and beauty. To others Lady Arwen may be more handsome but to me you are the true queen of elegance." Tauriel came to a halt and sat upon a bed of soft green moss, her white evening dress pooling around her gracefully. "You flatter me; as you have done once before though I do not believe you knew I was present at the time," she beckoned to him, "Esgaroth? You were truly there? You healed me in Lake Town, I thought you were an apparition...I- I believed I have made a fool out of myself; you must pardon my behaviour-"

"Kili, Is what you spoke of true?" His eyes fell to his hands, and almost inaudibly he whispered, "Yes."

She slipped a finger under his chin and kissed him, softly, pouring all she could not say aloud into her actions. He started at the unexpected, but soon let his heart lead the way. When finally they parted to breathe she whispered tenderly in his ear, "I do believe your Starlight dancer does love you Kili of Sindarin Erebor; and I must apprise you most urgently that she is not in another world, but with you, in this one."
