Leon walked into the Graveyard, and looked around for a moment. He had come here many times in the past couple of years, but he still had a hard time finding it. After a moment of looking however he found it, and walked up to it. A single Gravestone separated from the rest. On it was the name. Jessica Sabbota, the rest of the words were covered up by tall flimsy grass. Leon crouched down next to the grave, and smiled. "Hey Jess how are you doing?" He asked.
Only silence answered him, but it didn't seem to affect him. In fact he chuckled a little bit. "That's good, I'm doing great too, ya know." He said. I found this real nice group of people, and some of them are helping me out with a lot of things."
He put one of his hands on the ground, and started to trace his fingers through the dirt absentmindedly, as he paused to listen to the voice that wasn't really there. More silence greeted him, and the only noise you could hear was that of his tail swinging from side to side on the ground, as he watched the gravestone like he expected it to spring to life, and talk back to him.
He smiled again, but his eyes were starting to tear up with his hidden sorrow. The fur around his eyes was already moist with tears before he spoke again. "I'm glad to know your doing so well." He said slowly. "Listen though. I might not be back for awhile to see you. Those people, they need some help with a couple of things, and I'm going to try my best to help them out." He said, as his voice trembled slightly with his sorrow. "I just thought I'd let you know. Ok" He paused again, and stood up.
There he remained for a few moments, looking at the gravestone. A soft wind started to blow from the left, and he smiled on last time. "Alright I'll see you later then. Bye Jess." He said, as he turned and left silently.
The wind blew hard enough to move the grass, reveiling the rest of the inscription that had been hidden.
Died protecting her foolish friend.
