Honor
Haku lay dieing in Naruto's arm's. She got hit with a chidori while protecting Zabuza.
"I'm sorry Naruto-kun," said the dieing girl, "I am afraid I must leave you now."
Naruto just gripped her harder, "H-Haku-chan…hold on, I'm sure you can be healed."
The girl just smiled and said, "No, I am sorry but this is where my story ends."
Tears started to appear in the blonde's eyes, "No, I can't lose you. I just CAN'T!"
Thecolor started to leave Haku's eyes and skin.
"Remember Naruto that I will always love you"
Naruto was openly crying now, "I love you too."
Haku's eyes slowly closed for the last time.
"Haku?…Wake up Haku… come on wake up…HAKU!"
He held Haku's body close to his so tightly like he was afraid that a small gust of wind could take his preceos snowflake away.
A clapping sound was heard from the other side of the bridge.
"Well it appears that you failed. Too bad she died, I really would have like to make her my personnel slave. But oh well, maybe after I dispose of you guys I can sell her body to Orochimaru for research."
All of a sudden there was an energy spike from Naruto. He picked up a kunai.
"You have insulted my love's memory and for that you will die!" he said as he charged.
Naruto weaved through Gatou's army of thugs. Killing many but taking many wounds himself. Slicing, cutting, punching, and kicking.
When Naruto was halfway through the thugs, Kakashi made a move to help him but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw Zabuza holding him.
"Do not interfere, this is his battle and his alone."
The cyclops tried to remove the hand but it wouldn't budge, "Why?"
Zabuza replied, "Honor…because of honor he fights. That man insulted Haku, Naruto's lover. By insulting Haku, he insulted her honor and his own."
"But what good id honor if you're dead?"
The assassin just said, "Kakshi remember this. There are two types of fights, whenever we do battle it must be one of the two. The fight for life or…the fight for honor. Right now, he is fighting for his honor. His lover's honor…his friends' honor…but most importantly…his honor. Now let him be. If you interfere now, he will have to live the fact that he was unable to defend her honor, not even the fox is helping cause he knows what type of battle this is."
By now Naruto was able to reach Gatou but close to death.
"You will die here today." and with that he plunged the kunai into the guy's head.
Naruto slowly made it back to Haku's body.
"Looks like we're going to be together sooner than expect huh Haku-chan."
With that Naruto died next to the one he loved most.
Twenty years later:
A traveler was making his way across the bridge whe a little voice asked, "Who is that?"
Turning to where the little one was pointing, he saw a bronze statue on a young teen with whisker marks holding a kunai while in a defensive stance, and a another teen holding senbon in her right hand and her left hand forming a hand seal. Beneath it was a plaque that read:
"This bridge is dedicated to
These two lovers:
Naruto Uzumaki
And
Haku Uzumaki.
They died defending this country
And their honor.
Because of their brave actions,
Wave country was able to gain independence.
Where ever these two are now,
Let happiness find them
For they taught us one thing:
Even in the darkest of times,
A candle is all you need to light the way."
"They are the Heroes of wave."
The man looked out at the ocean and for second he believed he saw the two teens sitting on the edge of the bridge, lovingly embraced gazing out at the ocean. Then he blinked and they were gone.
