Chapter One: "Escape With Me?"

Finn had been running through fields of wet grass for hours, and he didn't exactly know why. Maybe it was because Jake had gone missing, and Finn's instincts knew where to find him. Or maybe it was just because the voice in his head told him to keep running and never stop.

Eventually, Finn found himself looking up at a large, tall building. One like he had never seen before. It stood 200 feet high into the clouds, rotting like the area around it. Finn was staring at a skyscraper, little did he know. For some strange reason, he wanted desperately to go inside. And so he did.

"I don't think I'm in Ooo anymore..." Finn thought aloud. Finn the Human had been running for so long that he arrived in the ruins of New York City, a place pleasantly different from everything he has ever known. Inside the building, Finn came across a cozy living space and a stairwell. He silently walked through the lobby looking for someone to greet him, as it looked like someone owned and took good care of the place.

"Hello? Is anyone here? Anyone?" Finn walked through the room eyeing all corners for a reply, but soon gave up and headed up the stairway. "Jake? Jake!" He shouted with each step, but got no answer of any kind. At the top of the stairs, Finn found a darkly light hallway; at the end of it was an opening, glowing red.

Behind a closed door, Finn found a faintly lit chamber, even though he could barely see, he continued to explore. Soft-sounding whispers and giggles cascaded through Finn's ears as he descended further into the room. After a short time of searching the chamber, Finn decided to follow the noises he heard and look up. He discovered a cage, hanging high above his head, and he began to wonder why he did not notice it before. The enclosure was massive. Finn stood still to observe the dangling cage; it swayed slowly without a sound. "Jake? Jake are you in there?"

Finn ran out of the room and down the stairs to arrive back in the building's lobby, where he collected a cushioned chair. Back in the chamber, Finn placed the chair next to the trap and jumped onto it. He grabbed the cage by the lower bars and pulled it right down, taking some of the ceiling with it.

He was shocked to find two teenage girls in the cage, one had long black hair and glowing blue eyes; the other had short blonde hair and brown eyes. They both looked terrified.

"Are…. Are you two okay?" he said softly. At the sight of him they shivered, hugging each other. "Who are you? Get out of here!" the blonde said.

"Before father finds you…" the other girl whispered as she shook.

"…Father?" Finn asked them as they started to cry. Still holding each other, the blonde screamed, "Just get out of here!" Finn narrowed his eyebrows and made fists with his hands. "Not without Jake!" He shouted. "Now tell me what's going on!"

The teen with long black hair stood up, her knees wobbling. She walked over to Finn. "Our father keeps us prisoners here. We've never seen the outside world; he says it's too dangerous. My sister and I are the only two humans left." She patted him on the hat.

"Who are you looking for? Daddy keeps lots of trespassers locked up here, along with us."

Finn looked down at his beat up black sneaks. He blinked, and looked back up at the only other remaining humans.

"My friend Jake is missing. Seen him? He's a small, yellow-orange dog with the power to stretch his bod. I'm Finn. Finn the human. And I would love to get you ladies outta here."

"Another human?" The blonde stood up. "Why that's impossible."

"Well here I am." He shrugged and smiled at her.

"I'm Lila" said the blonde. "And my sister's name is Cindy."

"Nice to meet you…" Cindy blushed.

"Escape with me?" Finn said as he turned away towards the door, after hearing footsteps upstairs.
