Will Solace was feeling overworked at the infirmary. The Stoll brothers somehow managed to get through the magic traps of the Hecate cabin, steal the potions that made plants become ferocious beasts, and threw them on the Demeter cabin. Five Demeter kids were unconscious, and it was Will's duty to heal them. He sang a hymn in Greek to Apollo for a few minutes, and they started to stir.

Kayla barged through the door and whispered, "It's my shift! You're going on break!"

Will blinked at her, confused. Kayla huffed and said, "Will you've worked in the infirmary for 16 hours! Give it a rest, won't you?"

Suddenly, Will remembered how much he wanted to visit his friend Nico. Will quickly thanked Kayla and left the infirmary. The sun made the cabins gleam at Camp Half-Blood, and Will took in the beautiful sight. Will marched over to the Hades cabin and knocked on the door. A few moments later, Nico poked his head out of the cabin.

"Hey Nico!", Will said enthusiastically. Silence rippled through the conversation. Will started to feel embarrassed until Nico turned pink and said, "Do y-you want t-to g-go somewhere outside o-of Camp H-Half Blood?"

Will stood frozen, eyes bulging and mouth opened. Until now, Nico had never offered to hang out with anyone except Hazel, his half-sister. Nico started to say," You don't have-"

"I'd love to! Where do you want to go?", Will cut through Nico's doubt.

"Well, I know this nice Italian gelato place...", Nico mused as Will nodded, signaling that Will agreed. Nico smiled slightly, grabbed Will's hand, and shadow traveled them to their desired destination.

Will frowned at Nico, opening his mouth to start lecturing Nico about the dangers of shadow travel, but he looked up and saw the beauty of a snowy New York. Nico had trudged ahead, pointing at a gelato store called "New York Ice". The store seemed cozy, and the walls were a mint blue. Will and Nico had entered. Nico had ordered himself a triple chocolate gelato, and Will had decided on a strawberry gelato with mango purée on top.

While they were eating their delicious treats, Will decided to ask Nico, "Is this a date?"

Nico turned as red as the Ares cabin, and excused himself to go to the restroom, still gripping his triple chocolate gelato. Will felt miserable and thought to himself, " Maybe I did mess up! I hope he forgives me... I'll tell him it's a joke once he comes back..."

In the restroom, Nico used the remainder of his chocolate gelato to summon his sister, Bianca. A transparent figure of Bianca floated above the floor. Nico blurted out to Bianca, "May I date Will Solace?"

Bianca smiled, as her wishes of Nico finding a true love had come true. "Yes, Nico, mi caro. I do want to meet him sometime later though."

Elated, Nico thanked Bianca, and Bianca drifted back to the Underworld. Nico confidently left the bathroom, came back to Will, who was silently sulking, lifted Will's beautiful face, and kissed him. Will blushed as red as a cherry, but responded back. Nico bobbed his head back, grinning, and said to Will, "Yes, this is a date, Will."
