*** Heya….this is my first fearless fic…hope you like. I have read most of the books, so I know the stories pretty well. I haven't actually read book 17 where Sam 'dies', but I've read the bit at the end so I know the circumstances. This is carrying on from the end of book 24 (they also included some from 25 – so I have continued from there.) *Disclaimer* I have no idea if this is what really happens, or if this is wrong in any other way. I don't own any of the characters, and what I've written about is simply my way I see it. ***
Looking
EYES FORWARD. HE THOUGHT. KEEP YOUR EYES FORWARD AND YOU'LL GET TO HER. JUST KEEP YOUR EYES FORWARD AND KEEP walking.
He struggled to keep his eyes open. The light was so bright and everything was so loud. After being in captivity for so long, the real world was so…big. The four white walls of his cell had been all he had seen for months…or was it years? He couldn't remember now. All time had blurred in to one eternal hell, without her. Now he had been walking for so long, and he felt like his feet would explode if he didn't stop.
He blinked rapidly as he got to a street sign. Screwing up his eyes and squinting, he read the sign, and then looked around in disbelief.
Washington Square Park. I'm here. He thought. He hadn't realised he had been walking for so long, it must have been five hours. He didn't know how he had done it. It was her you idiot. She guided you here. Gaia…
" Gaia…" he said, out loud, his breath like a ravaged dogs bark, it was so hoarse. It had been so long. So long since he had seen her. So long since that night when all he had done was to try and help her.
Now he wanted her back.
He wanted those mysterious blue eyes to connect with his. For his fingers to run through her silky blonde mane of hair. For her to be in his arms.
Staring at the miniature Arc De Triomphe, he realised he had been stood there for at least five minutes, gazing at the park, as if it was the pearly gates of heaven.
I know heaven. He thought. I've been there.
With her.
With her he had been there.
Suddenly his longing grew so intense he called out.
" Gaia!"
People turned towards him and stared. They must think I'm mad, he thought.
But he didn't care any more.
He ran across the traffic filled street, towards the sidewalk and the park.
Gaia…Gaia…please be there…please be waiting…please don't have forgotten…All Sam Moon cared about now…was getting to her.
