Mine, Forevermore

Disclaimer: Me no own Labyrinth!
AN: Alright! This is a one shot that's been developing in my mind for sometime so I just started writing! I hope you like it!

I watched her, waiting, hoping, and heck even wishing, for a chance. A careless wish thrown into the night, a moment of accident, something! I waited for the girl to, intentionally or not, invite me back into her life.

After watching every day for five years my first chance arose. It was her twentieth birthday that I was looking into and she was sitting glumly in her room; her elbows on her knees and her hands supporting her head, her expression thoughtful. Her bottle green eyes stared into the distance with an expression that one had lost their true love, I knew what this felt like, what it looked like, because I wore the same expression; I knew the pains she had to take in creating a suitable disguise for the depression gnawing at the edge of her consciousness, for I wore the same guise.

Among many things Sarah and I have in common is the fact is that both of us are unwanted. Never belonging, we wandered in a valley until we were to find a beacon of light, love. I knew Sarah loved me and I loved her as well so I am persistent, I'll never give up hope.

That night her "friends" had forced her into a bar. In there she met a man, tall, stocky, and very cruel. Jealousy burned in my veins at the way the man took advantage of her slightly influenced body. Sarah, after coming to her senses, ran away from the cruel man and right back home.

Oh, how can that smart girl be so stupid! I wondered as she opened her perfect mouth and mumbled the words that I had waited for years for her to say. "I wish the Goblin King would come and take me away, right now." She said brokenly.

I immediately left for her house arriving only moments after. "Well hello my Sarah." I said blonde hair teased out from my shoulders.

She looked at me longingly and I returned the look. "Would you like to come back with me precious?" I whispered. She looked up searching my face for a sign of hidden motives, but found none. I looked into her eyes and saw that she was not ready. She was going to say no, but although I knew it was the correct choice it still made my blood boil.

"No, I'm not ready… yet." She said sadly. I nodded and left we both knew I'd be back in a year.

10 Years later

I returned silently into the adult's room that belonged to my dear Sarah. I watched her sleeping form breathing deeply on the large bed. I smiled stroking the raven hair that was now flecked with thin wisps of silver. I raised the covers and slid in next to her. Immediately her eyes snapped opened with bright intensity. She slid out of the opposite side and I rose to follow her.

"Are you ready to come home yet my dear?" I asked already expecting another rejection.

Her aging eyes met mine across the distance between us "Yes Jareth. I'm ready." I was stunned to say the least but the traditional stunned silence was quickly ended by elation, pure and blinding, taking over. I swept her small frame into my arms and pressed her to my chest in a massive hug. She pushed me back but I just barely tolerated a few inches between us so she stopped. I gave her my signature, devilishly handsome, lopsided grin and moved in close to her ear. "You're mine." I breathed, breath tickling her exposed ear, sending a shiver down her spine before teleporting back to the Underground. I finally had the love of my life, and she would be mine, forevermore.
