It was near the beginning of summer, the weather was finally warming up and the castle didn't feel so cold anymore. You wouldn't need a sweater on now, unlike the past few months. Danny was busy relaxing in his bedroom letting the sunlight glow on him. He like the fact that it makes him feel warm also he doesn't burn easily so he could stay in the sunlight for a few hours without sun cream. He was enjoying a peace full after noon when…
"Danny, come here." Kook shouted.
Danny's eyes opened and slowly adjusted to the sun light, he carefully made his way to the bedroom door without tripping over various items on the floor. Danny made his way to his parents' room, where Kook was waiting for him.
"What?" Danny asked.
"I think it's important as you're my son that we talk about things." Kook said trying to sound stern like Thorne or Skabb would if they were talking to Zsa-Zsa and Jack, Gildar would do anything Annaka would say if she kept bugging him about it.
"No, No, No." Danny thought, "Jack warned me about this, it's 'the talk'. How am I going to get out of this one?"
"Come on Danny." Kook said turning around to face him, "This way."
Danny slowly followed, for some reason they were heading for the roof of the castle, He slowly made his way up on to the roof, when he arrived Kook was already sitting down in his summer nest, waiting for him.
"Daniel, sit here." Kook said pointing the piece of nest next to him.
"Oh great full name." Danny thought to himself, "No one calls me Daniel unless I'm in trouble, no wait Zsa-Zsa or Jack or even Annaka haven't called me Daniel, this is a first, which means it's important, maybe I can quickly fly away very fast, I've done that before combined my fastness and my flying, actually it was quite fun I was doing what 40mph in the sky. No focus Danny, you're in big trouble, is that why Zsa-Zsa kept smiling at me earlier? Of course she was, she never smiles unless I'm something bad is going to happen to me."
"Now Danny, Your mum and I have been talking about…" Kook was saying.
"No, no, I'm not ready; I'm only 17, why are they doing this to me. It's not like I know this stuff already, I swear I was taught it at splat school." Danny thought to himself.
"Danny, did you hear me?" Kook asked.
"Um, sorry what did you say?" Danny asked Kook.
"We think you're ready to build your own real nest, I know it's a big step and with my family wanting it perfect, we think your capable, look at this nest, and this took 4 attempts to get right." Kook explained.
"Was that it?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, why? Were you expecting something else?" Kook replied.
"No it's just Zsa-Zsa was smiling at me earlier and that's never a good sign, trust me I know that girl." Danny said, "After all she is my cousin."
"Yeah, that's never a good sign; I can see Thorne in her clearly, the way they both look at us." Kook said, "The look of if you don't shut up I'll kill you."
Danny nodded. Kook went back inside as he was on watch out duty; Danny remained up here to get some more sunlight from when it lasted. He wasn't sure how long he was up here for but he heard the sound of footsteps approach him.
"Kook said you were up here." A familiar voice said.
"You know me, always like the sun, actually so do you, shouldn't you be tanning now?" Danny asked.
"Probably." Annaka replied, "So what was the talk with your dad about?"
"Oh, about making a nest, nothing big." Danny said.
"Sounds big." Annaka replied sitting down.
"Well to the family it is bit to me, no big deal, one half of the family hate me, it will only make things easier if the other side hate me as well." Danny said sitting up.
"Yeah, who needs family when you have Jack Tonelli, Zsa-Zsa Cart and Me, Annaka Graphum." Annaka replied.
"Yep who needs family?" Danny said.
