That Stupid Game
Julia and Vaughn were standing outside the animal shop. Julia smiled. "Hey Vaughn, want to play a game?"
Vaughn narrowed his eyes. He knew how annoying some of Julia's games could be. "What game?"
"You know that game where all you do is ask questions back and forth?"
Vaughn sighed. This was the most annoying game of them all. "How many times do I have to tell you I hate that stupid game?"
Julia continued to smile. She knew how to get Vaughn to play. "The only reason you don't like it is because you always lose, isn't it?"
"…You think you can beat me?"
"Don't I always?"
Vaughn shook his head and sighed. "How did I get dragged into this?"
"You don't think this game is fun?"
"What kind of brainless idiot would actually find this fun?"
"Well I play it all the time, don't I?"
"And you have an I.Q. of what, 6?"
Julia scowled. "Are you calling me stupid?"
"Why would I do that?"
Julia crossed her arms. "Well you are the master of jerkiness, aren't you?"
Vaughn glowered at her. "Beats being queen of the idiots, though, doesn't it?"
"Why do I even try to play these games with you?"
"Because no one else will even stick around once you announce you're playing a game?"
"Okay, you know what?" Julia stomped back into the animal store. A minute later she came back out, carrying a huge bunch of carrots. Vaughn flinched.
"MMMM, don't they look GOOD?"
Vaughn scrunched up his nose as Julia continued to wave them in his face.
"Oh yeah? Well how do you like this?" He reached into his knapsack and pulled out a giant fish. Julia gasped.
"Ha, what now?"
x-x-x
A few minutes later Mirabelle came outside and looked around. "Hey guys, break time's over- What the heck are you doing?"
She watched as Vaughn and Julia continued to wave the fish and carrots around like maniacs, screaming random questions at each other. She shook her head and walked back inside.
" Kids today come up with the weirdest games."
