Andromeda moved silently around her room, quickly stuffing whatever she could into her trunk, not bothering to check if it was urgent. Being a hurry did that to Andromeda. She had always been the black sheep of the family. Whereas Bellatrix was a purist and Narcissa was proper and poltite, Andromeda has always been the opposite, which was probably why she got on so well with Sirius.

Messy, brash, unafraid of getting dirty and hitting the boys. That was Andromeda through and through. It shamed her parents to no end, but Andromeda had no intention of trying to please them and play along with their warped views on blood purity.

But Ted was different. He liked Andromeda the way she was. In fact the very first time they had met, Andromeda had not only beaten him in a inpromptu race, but had also displayed her amateur kung-fu. She had been afraid that Ted would be intimidated by her, but he had laughed and taken a liking to her straight away.

Now they were eloping and Andromeda had made the foolish mistake of telling Narcissa, who had the decency to wait twenty minutes before running to their father, resulting in one of the biggest arguments to ever take place in the Grimmauld Place. Furniture had been broken, curses and hexes had been fired and two house-elves had been sacrificed. The sooner Andromeda got out of this place the better.

The trunk closed with a wave of her wand and Andromeda levitated it out of her window. It landed in the bushes and Andromeda crept silently out of the window after it, landing with a soft thump on the wet grass. She picked up her trunk and without a backward glance she walked away from her childhood home forever.
