Tami of Gorland's point sat on her horse watching the peasants wander by, eagerly anticipating her arrival at the place.

Tami was a shortish girl for her age she was about 5 feet tall; she had black hair and deep blue eyes that seemed to shine like gems.

"Tami are you sure about this? We can still organise for you to go to the convent"

Tami turned to her short podgy salt and pepper haired nursemaid

"I'm sure in fact I haven't been surer in my entire life"

"If you're sure then"

"I am"

"Its just that they say the last lady page got into a lot of trouble from some of the older pages"

"I'll be all right Kali"

But Tami wasn't sure she was going to be all right she was screaming inside the screaming got louder as they drew up to the palace.

Tami walked into her new room it had once belonged to page Keladry so it had magical locks installed on every possible entrance making it hard for people who did not wish her well to break into her rooms.

She placed her bags on the bed and began unpacking her books ornaments and clothes into the cupboards and onto shelves.

When she was finished she tied back her long glossy locks with an emerald ribbon and changed into a clean baby blue dress and green surcoat she had a few hours before dinner and wanted to use them to explore the corridors of her new home.

She stepped gingerly out into the corridor looking either way for unwanted company then turning to lock her door. She turned and almost knocked over a boy about her age with dark hair and hazel eyes

"Sorry!" she exclaimed cheeks gaining a hue close to that of an over-ripe tomato.

"That's ok, you must be Tami of Gorland's point I'm Doram of Jorad Lake, pleased to make your acquaintance, dinner isn't for another two hours or so, I was just coming to ask if you'd like a tour, would you?"

"Actually I was just on my way out to do that but if you know the place well then thankyou."

Doram smiled happily.

He led her down the corridor to the library were they sat at a table and Doram

Left for a minute and returned holding a pile of books

"Here's some books you might want to borrow out so you don't have to be put on a waiting list for them once classes start"

she looked at the books, unit one mathematics, Yamani dinner manners, techniques for tortallan jousting, fencing a history, battles of the past twelve centuries, tortallan history of diplomacy, great tortallan history.

"Thankyou Doram"

he smiled sweetly revealing white teeth .
