The team entered the dream and looked around.
They could barely see anything.
The dark swallowed up the building and they could hardly see each other.
"Well this is fantastic." Eames muttered. "We have a mission to do. And we can see bugger all."
"Ever learned to mind your surroundings." Cobb said, raising an eyebrow.
Eames jumped as he heard a noise behind him and reacted on survival instinct rather than anything else, realizing just a minute too late after he pulled the trigger that he had just aimed at Arthur.
The Point Man yelled out in pain and collapsed to the floor as the bullet went into his leg. He clamped a hand over the wound and grimaced in pain, leaning against the wall. Eames rushed over and gave him an apologetic look while examining the wound.
"I'm so sorry love, I didn't know it was you, I'm terribly sorry."
Arthur gritted his teeth and grunted as The Forger pulled the bullet out and wrapped a bandage around the wound tightly.
"That's all we can do for the moment. We're just going to have to get along with the job." Cobb said, feeling a little annoyed that this had happed. They were supposed to be professionals for Christ's sake.
Eames offered Arthur a hand up but he pushed it away, dragging himself up by digging his fingers into the gaps in the bricks that made up the building's walls.
The team started walking again and Arthur tried to keep up, limping as his leg complained by throbbing in pain as he walked.
Five minutes into the mission and it was already a disaster.
"Hurry up Arthur or we're leaving you behind!" Cobb called back to him as he fell back slightly.
The Point Man growled quietly under his breath. He wasn't one to complain about pain to his teammates, but he couldn't go any faster than he was without making the pain in his leg ten times worse, yet Cobb treated it like it was just a graze and nothing more.
He leant on the wall as a wave of dizziness overcame him and waited until he could tell which direction was up and which was down. He opened his eyes again and saw that the rest of the team had vanished, while Eames was standing about a three metres away, looking at him in concern.
"I'm sorry Arthur. If I could take it back…"
"Well you can't, so shut the hell up." Arthur snapped before sighing heavily. "Sorry, it's just…"
"It hurts right?"
"..."
"Come on." Eames slung his arm over his shoulder and helped him walk down the alleyway. "They can't have gotten that far away."
"Come on you two!"
Eames chuckled quietly as Arthur growled at Cobb.
