Fira sat in the captain's chair, making those last minute checks she always tended to do before turning in.

Right now she hadn't really had to do them, but it was just another one of those habits she had.

She heard footsteps and turned the chair around, Corso was standing in the archway to the cockpit.

She turned the chair and smiled.

"Just wanted to say goodnight before I turned in," He nodded and went to walk away.

"Wait," Fira stepped out of the chair, crossed the floor between then and reached for his wrist.

He stopped and turned to her.

"I'm sorry," She sighed. "You've been nothing but good to me, and lately I ain't exactly been treating you well," She blinked and looked away for a moment, "I keep making all these excuses and I need to stop because part of me won't just let me go into this…"

Those three words were there again, and they almost made it off the tip of her tongue but she held them back still.

"But, I've thought and I want this, no idea where it's going, and even if it's going to last, but I want to try,"

There was a pause, brown eyes meeting green before he pulled her into his arms, and she let the warm feeling and that blaster oil and she wasn't sure what else smell overwhelm her slightly.

Fira pushed back, green eyes taking on an impish twinkle, "Also, my bed's been real lonely without you,"

He grinned, "Well, I think I can do something about that," He pulled her close one more and tipped her head up for a long, slow kiss. She slipped her arms around his neck.

She pulled back slightly, twining her fingers into one of the dreads that framed his face before she brushed the scars on his cheek. "So," She grinned, "You forgive me?"

"Mhmm, you can make it up to me later," He rained before he ran his fingers across her jaw tipping her into another kiss, before running his thumb over her freckled cheek she smiled in response before she playfully nipped at his lip, and she heard him chuckle deeply.

He twined his hand with hers and tugged slightly, she chuckled and followed him.

She woke up.

Corso was asleep beside her, one arm draped around her waist. She lay there for a moment and let herself get lost in that safe, warm feeling. She felt him shift and pull her closer and she let her head rest on his chest and she drifted back to sleep.

Maybe breaking that rule wasn't so bad
