Ok, I'm assuming you all read the warning, so if you don't want KoD spoilers, get out now.
DISCLAIMER: No, I do not own the Wheel Of Time. I believe the rights belong to the dearly departed Robert Jordan's wife...cries hysterically
SUMMARY: This is what happens when I'm bored out of my mind during my break and am wired on Red Bull. Anyway, it's my take on Lews Therin Kinslayer's thoughts just before he siezes control of saidin away from Rand during that huge-ass battle they have with the Trolloc/Myrddraal hordes. I actually like Lews Therin; he's a very tragic character but lately he's done more to advance the plot than some of the major characters (Not mentioning any names...cough Elayne cough). Anyway this only took me about 5 minutes to write so if you want to flame, go ahead; I really don't care.
It's calling to me. Saidin. Always there, singing its sweet, deadly song. Just out of reach. That boy. He's the one, the one who prevents me from embracing the source. Why must you thwart me, boy?
Ilyena. Oh, light, what have I done? Why am I not permitted to die for my sins? I would Break the world again to see her smile, one last time. Ilyena. Ilyena...
Mierin. Curse the woman. Ever spiteful, lusting after power. What I saw in her I will never know. What she saw in me...Saidin. It's still there, rushing, blissfully out of reach. But it's different; I can almost feel it. Is the boy gone? Where did he go? No matter. Saidin. It's so close I can taste it, taste the sweet, pure, molten rage and icy despair. It's calling to me. Saidin...
Why am I not allowed to die? To finally end my suffering...Ilyena...
