I'm very bored so I thought I'd do a short one shot about Danny getting the job as State Vet. It's just Danice fluff really.
Alice heard the gentle rumble of a car outside, she smiled, that must mean Danny is finally back. He'd been away all day in Jo'burg, at an interview. He was applying for the prestigious role of state vet. She smiled again, he'd be perfect in that position. Her mind drifted to their earlier conversation.
"Test me!" Danny asked seriously despite the fact he was so excited he was buzzing around like a busy bee whizzing from flower and flower to get the most honey.
"Ok... ok." Alice laughed thinking hard. "Okay, what qualities do you have that make you the best man for the job?"
"They'd ask it more formally than that." Danny had argued, Alice tilted her head telling him unspoken he wasn't getting it any other way. He then stood up tall and looked at her. "Commitment, Passion, Leadership."
Alice laughed at his superman pose. "You're gonna ace this."
"You think?" Danny questioned nervously.
"I know, especially with a good luck kiss from your wife." Alice displayed her stunning smile before scrambling across the seats of the Jeep to kiss him. "Good Luck husband."
"Thank you wife!" Danny grinned.
Alice, who had been grinning stupidly to herself was suddenly snapped back to reality as she heard him walk in. She stretched and yawned, she'd been comfortable on the sofa.
"What a hard life you have!" Danny teased his eyes bright and alive.
"All round superwoman." Alice mumbled. "Wife, mother and vet."
Danny laughed and sat next to her loosening his tie off and undoing his top button.
"So come on, did you get the job?" Alice asked him turning to face him.
"Unfortunately..." Danny began, he almost laughed as he saw Alice's caring face begin to appear. "You'll have to find some way of getting over the fact your husband is now the state vet and you'll have to share me with all the other vets!"
"Danny!" Alice laughed hugging him. "Well done." She kissed him once deeply. He smiled at her laughing. "I'm so proud of you!"
"Commitment, Passion, Leadership." Danny winked.
"You did not do that superman pose did you?" Alice laughed.
"No!" Danny replied. "No I did not... but I did get my uniform."
"Oh a uniform. I do like a man in uniform." Alice teased him. "I wanna see it."
Danny laughed and shook his head. He looked around the room and noticed they were the only ones in the usually heavily populated living room. He frowned, Leopards Den was quiet too.
"Where is everyone?" Danny asked.
"Gone to Fatani's." Alice replied.
"Why didn't you go?" Danny questioned her.
"Wanted to wait for you." She smiled blushing slightly. He smiled and kissed the side of her head gently. "Anyway, go put your uniform on now!"
Danny grumbled before standing up. She put her legs up and dismissed him with her hand. He grabbed his bag and took it in their room. He emerged soon after in his new uniform. Alice let out a very loud 'Aww' before laughing.
"You look like you should be on Top Gun." Alice giggled.
"I look smart!" Danny retorted, "And erm, when we watched that you commented on how fit and sexy all those actors were... which means..."
"They wish." Alice winked at him, he smiled at her. "You're way sexier obviously and way fitter, I mean look at you!" She teased. She stood up and began to sing Will Young's Switch It on to him.
"You love it really." Danny laughed as she walked over.
"Guilty." Alice admitted. "You look very handsome in your Top Gun uniform."
He kissed her gently.
"You look even better wearing something else though." Alice replied.
"What?" Danny asked intrigued. She winked at him and smiled at him seductively, he raised one eyebrow. Her face then broke out into a radiant grin as she pushed him to their room. He had an idea what she meant...
A/N – meh that was crap.
