If one was to describe Mineral Town, the first thing they would say may be that is peaceful.

"Good morning…" I said as I was entering Saibara' shop.

Of course, the previous statement might not count inside the Saibara' shop.

"WHAT? EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT! COME ON!" And it's even less peaceful whenever Gray starts to scream.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT? The answer is inside of you!" Even though Saibara tries to teach Gray the proper way to become a blacksmith, he doesn't seem to understand his methods. Saibara is Gray's grandfather. He's been in the blacksmith's business for a really long time. "You have much to learn!"

"EXCUSE ME!" I got impatient. It was pretty much my first week in Mineral Town and I was starting to understand how the people in here functioned.

"WHAT IS IT?!" Gray was a cold guy. I have never met anyone quite like him before. He was tall, had big blue eyes and red hair.

"I…Err…" Nervousness, that's what I call nervousness.

"STOP FU…"

"GRAY!" Saibara stopped him before he said anything worse. "How dare you to talk to a customer like that!"

"So…sorry" He stared at the floor, maybe realizing that that wasn't the best way to talk to new customers.

"Welcome" Saibara greeted me (finally). "Can you wait for a second? I need to go get something from the back of the store".

It was just Gray and I in there. It felt like an eternity before I was able to speak to him.

"H-hey" that's all I managed to say. Was that too ridiculous?

"Oh, you must be Jack…" He raised his head."How are you doing?"

"You ok?" Seriously. This was really awkward. I just wanted to act natural, but I couldn't seem to do it. "Seems like Saibara was giving you a hard time…".

"Sorry for earlier. I didn't mean to be rude…"

"It's ok…" I noticed how he was holding some tears, he was obviously trying not to look weak in front of me. "But… What happened?"

"You see… my grandfather was giving me a hard time. He never approves any of my work. I'm ready to quit. I feel stupid, you know?" He lowered his head once again. Suddenly I felt like if I had to make him feel better somehow.

"Well… You know… It's called TRAINING!"

"Oh! You're right" of course I am! "I'm such a wimp!" He managed a half smile."Sorry for complaining so much…"

"It's ok. Don't worry at all…"

"Thanks, Jack! I don't get what my grandfather is saying now, but I think the time will come. Just keep trying."

"I'm sure you can do it" I'm sure he will be able to make it. He will be an amazing blacksmith someday.

"I'm going back to work, alright? Thanks man, really."

I had to work too, so I left for that day. I kept wondering all day why I felt the way I did when he was about to cry. I guess I just wanted to make him feel better, but why?
