Plaster and Stone
They say I'm just another stone face
With a stone scowl
With stone tears
With stone reactions
They are just plaster faces
With plaster words
With plaster grins
With plaster optimism
They say I should be plaster
To change what I say
To change how I feel
To change who I am
They say I should tell them how I feel
But they don't care
But they don't understand
But they won't understand
If only we could compromise
To try to understand
To want to understand
To need to understand
Nothing is set in stone
If I could just get a chisel
But the plaster is already molded
And I love them too much to break their mold
