This is my first InuYasha fanfic, but not my first ever. So constructive criticism would be amazing for me, okay?

Ugh, that guy is so infuriating! Kagome thought as she pulled herself out of the well into her own time.
InuYasha had once again ran off to see Kikyo the previous night, and still hadn't returned when she decided that it was time to come home and re-stock. Not to mention in order to get some much needed R and R from her man troubles.
"Hey, Higurashi!"
Speaking of which... Kagome closed her eyes and drew a breath before turning around with a smile plastered to her face, "Hojo, hi."
The teen stopped in front of her and waved a hand awkwardly.
Kagome raised her eyebrows.
"You, uh, you're all dirty."
Kagome looked down, Oh, yeah – just been slaying demons left and right, it's something I do in my free time, see? A little hobby of mine.
"Yeah, I've uhm...just come back from a health camp."
"Oh, I hear there are some pretty good ones around..." Hojo hopped from one foot to another.
She was just about to ask him if he needed to use her bathroom when a single yellow rose was some-what violently thrust into her face.
"For you. I know you aren't exactly...interested in me as I am in you, so, a yellow rose for-"
"Friendship," Kagome fingered the delicate petals, a soft smile gracing her features. "Hojo, thank you." She looked up at him, the smile still in place, "I'm sorry I can't be anything more than a friend to you...but you will find someone, Hojo." She looked up to gaze at the darkening sky, "There's someone, somewhere under these stars, waiting for you. Keep looking, and don't give up."
Hojo grinned and rubbed a hand over his hair, "I won't. See you around, Higurashi Kagome." He started walking backwards.
Kagome held the up the hand with the rose in it and waved, before turning around and heading into the house.
Well, at least I can sleep easy now, knowing I only have to worry about InuYasha's potential necrophiliac tendencies.
She paused before scoffing quietly. Like she could ever relax around InuYasha.
