It was a nice day outside. Kyo thought it would be nice to go for a walk, so he put on his shoes and started on his way. He was half-way down the drive way when he heard Yuki yell his name. He grumbled but stopped. When Yuki had finally caught he asked "Where are you going?" Kyo looked alittle surprised at the way Yuki was treating him but quickly brushed it off. He then answered with a "For a walk, whats it to ya?" His answer was that of a slightly irritated mummer. It wasn't that he didn't like the boy, but he just irritated him to new measures.
They would fight constantly. That's why he was kinda surprised when the boy spoke to him in a nice tone. He was glad at the fact he didn't have to fight with the boy at the moment. He just wanted a relaxing day. Then the weirdest thing happened. Yuki stood next to him and asked "Can I come to?" Kyo, stood dumbfounded for a moment til it actually caught him. Yuki was asking to do something with him, not attacking him head first. It was kinda weird.
They started to walk in silence. At first it was an awkward silence, but after a while it turned comfortable. He enjoyed the company. It was a different feeling to have someone there with him.
The silence ended after about five minutes when Yuki asked "So. how have things been?" Kyo just kept walking, pondering the question. "Good, but can I ask you something? Why are you being nice?" He looked at Yuki with a thoughtful expression. He was truly interested in the answer he would receive from the rat. Yuki just looked at the slightly taller boy and smiled. "I just thought since we were getting older we should act it and put this rivalry behind us and start anew, OK?" But on the inside Yuki was thinking 'Because I like you. That's why I'm being nice. I want to know if you like me? I want to know you.'
Kyo was dumbfounded for a moment but soon got over it. He thought about it. They are getting to old to be fighting like they do. He wouldn't mind a friendship. They were walking near the cherry blossom trees when he looked over at Yuki. The boy was beautiful. His silver hair swaying in the wind, his eyes big looking at Kyo with a question. His lean feminine body was perfect not a blemish or mark in sight. He really was prince like.
When Kyo realized what he was doing he turned away blushing like a madman. Yuki also had a little bit of a pink tint to his cheeks. They stood there in an awkward silence, and again Yuki was the one to break it. "Kyo, I think we should start heading back, dinner will be done soon." He finished with a smile. It had Kyo blushing and stuttering. "Y-yeah" Yuki saw this and turned away blushing. Kyo started back slowly. After about five steps he realized Yuki wasn't following, so he stopped and held his hand out to Yuki and asked with a big smile and a blush. "Are you coming?" At this Yuki blushed as red as a tomato, but he still took the offered hand.
Kyo didn't know why he had offered his hand to the other boy, but he kinda liked having Yuki hold his hand. Kyo and Yuki blushed the whole way home. They walked in a comfortable silence. They finally got to the door and as Kyo went to open it Yuki blushed while pulling on his hand and asked. "Can we take another walk after dinner?" Kyo smiled at this and said as honestly as he could. "I would love to go for another walk after dinner." He squeezed Yuki's one last time before letting go.
